Five Stars
Really fun intro to game development. Probably the best first tier software choice available that is not shareware.

Good product; fun to use... but if you want to make web games, just use Flash
I had been using this line of software for many years starting with Klik 'n Play (released in 1994). It's very easy to make games and other applications with, but the company who makes it (Clickteam) is very slow to release updates and keep up with the times. If you don't want to bother ever learning code, and for some reason you still want to make your own games or software... then this product is great for you. If you want to make games playable on the web, then I do not recommend this.Clickteam, for years, has been talking about releasing an update to compile games in Java format, to be played on the web. However, after all this time, all that exists is a skimpy beta version of this. The bottom line is that much fun can be had with this product, but if you are serious about making your own games or other software, I strongly recommend you learn some code (preferably ActionScript or Java). Also, if you are considering buying this product, you should definitely download a free trial version from Clickteam's site first.

2011 Still Going Strong!!
The only review here given is rather old. So I will write a new one and hopefully this can help out potential customers on the decision of purchasing this product. First of all. I own (literally) every 2D and 3D game engine license. I have Game Maker, I have The Games Factory, Game Editor, the list goes on and on. Reason I bring those up is cause those are all great tools and do the job. Create 2D games. This product is always undergoing updates, and the community and developers are always around to help out. Ive been around for about two years and the community has been nothing but great. By just doing the tutorial which comes with the product, and spending about 30 seconds looking around of each thing it tells you to do, out of the box your pretty much ready to create! The documentation is superb, and the tutorial is flawless, easy to follow and contains absolutley no bugs. As soon as I was done with the tutorial as quickly as I finished it was adding power ups, ability to gain more lives etc. Without further documentation. The graphics, sounds are provided to you, but that dosent mean you cannot import and use your own. If you wanted to make Mario 10, you could, Zelda 20, its possible. Dont mistake this "drag and drop" engine for something that cannot make professional quality games. The license allows you to sell your finished product as well. The product also allows you to create games and put them on your website, others dont have to download a thing. You create your game in MMF2, and use a simple import option and its all done for you. Drag the finished file to your web server and tell your friends to play!! IT IS that simple. It also now allows java, .swf and so on. Enjoy this product everyone, as I have..

This is a fantastic product.
This is a fantastic product. I've been writing code since the 1970's, and have created some well known instructional programming texts and commercially successful pieces of software. I've written a number of little game examples over the years, but this tool allows for much improved productivity. It dramatically reduces the time and work required to complete many types of games. It's usable immediately, even by people who've never written a line of code, to implement all sorts of impressive game mechanics. You'd need to have lots of painful experience writing code in any programming language, to do anything similar. The whole system is extraordinarily simple and fun to work with, and there are a huge number of quick tutorials and existing examples to learn from. Learning to program is fantastically valuable, but if you just want to create games, this is a *much* quicker way to get results. If you're a programmer looking for a way to improve game development productivity, this is a really powerful solution which leaves typical games libraries in the dust in terms of simplicity and speed of development. Here's a quick little tutorial to give you an idea of just how easy it is to use: http://www.clickteam.com/creation_materials/tutorials/download/pong.pdf
