THIS DOES NOT GLOW UNDER A BLACKLIGHT! I got this product specifically for a blacklight project and unlike what the name says, it Does Not Glow! Its a waste of money and a lie. Some real blacklight yarn next to it so show what glow it should have had. No glow even with the light directly pointed at it

This is a great quality thread, but I have to say, even though I gave it 5 stars, I was disappointed. This is the Shades of Purple from days gone by, but instead of the dark purple they used to use, it is now shades if pale lavender with no deep purple in the variegation. So, I couldn't match it with the older yarn and will have to use it for something else. If you are looking for the old shades of purple...that matches their solid deep purple, they apparently don't make it anymore.

I do a lot of thread crochet -- doilies, lace trims, etc. -- and Aunt Lydia's is one of my favorites. It's one of the more economical choices (compared to the "luxury" brands), and it's a consistently good performer for the kinds of things I like to make.The colors are good, too -- I chose this "Cream" to use with some small crochet mandalas. The yellowish tone worked perfectly with other Aunt Lydia colors (Maize, etc.) to get the effect I wanted of shading from light (center) to dark.Definitely can recommend this -- good quality at a good price. I like it.

What beautiful colors! The blue was a pleasant surprise! Very easy to crochet with, and the colors are kind of antique looking, which is what I wanted.

With this black thread I crocheted a blouse.

Product is not nearly as dark a pink color as indicated in the online images. The thread I received is a pale pink I bought it expecting it to be much darker andneeded it to contrast with a pale/light pink thread I purchased. I'm keeping it despite it being the wrong color for its intended use , because it was a good price and it's good quality. I can use it for other projects. I'm posting this review to let others know the color shown is probably not what you'll receive unless my thread was mislabeled during production or packaging.

Terrific stitch definition. When I want to show beginners how to recognize the different parts of a stitch, this is what I show it to them on.It's lovely for doing lacy projects. Depending on need, you may want one of the finer weights of Aunt Lydia Crochet Yarn. For comparision, #10 is noticeably thicker than sewing thread but much thinner than a sport weight yarn.It's stretchy as heck. When blocked, my Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread projects end up being 60-80% bigger than before they were unblocked. (It's easy to block cotton without stretching it much, if you don't want to. However, the yarn itself is stretchy enough that the weight of your project can make its fabric grow at least somewhat more than what you intended.)If you've never worked with yarn of this weight before, FYI: it requires quite small hooks, and it's helpful to have excellent vision. On the up-side, every stitch is so crisp that it's very easy to count them or catch mistakes.I like the Natural colorway, which has a slight yellow undertone that makes it look like your lace must have been made decades ago by grandma. Ironically, the Antique White colorway leans heavier to white, which looks less like an heirloom.A neat thing is that just a single skein of this is enough to make several scarves!

I have bought this product elsewhere in the past and could not find it so bought it here and I must say that I was more than disappointed in the change in the color. As you can see from the photos I posted the colors are very light in the product I received. The website shows a much darker purple that the one I got in the mail. The one I got goes from white to a light shade of purple, the one I thought I was getting was a light purple to a much darker purple. The image on the website is very misleading and should be removed or update to reflect the correct color.

After not receiving this item when I ordered it from UK I ordered it from USA expecting it to take a considerable amount of time. However it arrived within the week!!! I was shocked and delighted in equal measure. The quality and colour is the crochet cotton is excellent. It is not very thin and is exactly what I wanted. Fantastic service. Excellent product. Very happy shopper.

Looks like a nice rainbow yarn at first… but as your making a pattern you realise there are some colours in it that are quite frankly rank. Pink green yellow and orange are gorgeous, the brown and grey… ew. Why would I want brown and grey in a rainbow? Also it isnt a blacklight colour as advertised, it doesn’t glow at all under a blacklight. don’t bother.

Beautiful colours for crochet summer tops/dresses. I’m just making a top to wear over plain tank top to add a bit of jujj to the look :-pYou might be misled by the look of the thread, looks bigger than it is, for a plain sleeveless top, I ordered 2 more to finish it (I’m a size 10/12, worked on 150 stitches both sides). Very easy to crochet on 1.25 hook.

Good quality cotton. I use it t make doilies & sachets. Arrived before estimated time.

As iteration comes from overseas, takes a while to arrive, but worth the wait.
