Clearing some concerns.
I got these about two weeks ago, and I've been wearing them to break them in almost every day. It's painful, but once they're broken in, they're pretty comfortable! Now, let's address the concerns! If you're buying these, since the chemical burn debacle, I have to chime in with what I've found. I searched around, and saw a couple cases in which people remark on getting the chemical burn after getting the straps wet. I took this approach of keeping them dry at all times. My feet aren't sweaty either, so that helps. Two weeks in, and I haven't had any reactions. My feet are very sensitive, and the pair I got came from China, so I'd say...theory confirmed so far? I'll update if anything changes, but I seem to be perfectly fine by now.Another thing is the sizing. Do NOT use the standard shoe sizes as reference! The size guide includes the sandal length in inches or cm, so use that against your foot length. The ideal sandal size should be half an inch on the front, and one on the back, so 1 inch longer if you're U.S. like me. I did this and got a perfect fit.Third, be wary of the seller! Try to navigate to the official Rainbow store. I've seen several complaints of people getting used pairs or even counterfeits. Always double check at checkout. This might decrease your chance of getting some used pair or something.Fourth, the type of leather. Be wary that some colors only come in a specific type of leather. I personally prefer the premier leather because it's matte and not as flashy, but the other leathers supposedly have a sheen to them. Always check before putting down the cash.Fifth, the double layer is not huge! If you're afraid the double layer sandal is going to look like a platform shoe, worry not. It looks surprisingly low profile! I am very relieved I chose the double layer one because I can get my cake and eat it too - that is, maximum style and comfort. And finally, the colors. I had my serious doubts about how the sandal looks in real life versus the picture. I got the dark brown one, and the color is pretty much 1:1 with the store photo. That's about if for the potential concerns. I personally loved the extra style these flips provide, and the extra comfort is a plus. I'd still wouldn't recommend these for everyday wear, because they might eventually get wet, be it with water or sweat. They pose some risks, but the trade off is some of the best looking sandals on the market.

Comfortable
They live up to the hype, quality and comfort, built to last. I am an 11, I bought 10.5 and 11 and kept the 11’s.

Comfortable support and good fit after break-in
I use these sandals only indoors. For this, they are excellent. It took a few days to break-in. During this time, the strap is quite tight, so follow their advice and don't try to break them in at one time. After this, they fit well and provide good arch support and are very comfortable to wear. I bought this pair to replace my Chaco (the leather version is no longer made). The support is not quite as good, but overall the sandals are more comfortable and support more than adequate for me. If the leather footbed lasts (I wear them barefoot), these will be worth the price.UPDATE: After 11 months, I've bought my second pair. Everything I said above remains the same and the footbed has not had any degradation at all.

Forever sandal
Got this as a gift and it was well received. High quality leather that molds to your foot. It should feel snug at first and you have to break them in. The lifetime guarantee is also worth it in case a strap comes loose or breaks you can send it back. Style goes with everything, neutral leather color. Gets a little slippery when wet otherwise dries well and still fits nice after.

Comfort
These sandals kind suck to break in, but once they are they are so comfortable! If you don’t believe me, treat them with a leather conditioner when you first get them. Wear them for about 2 weeks, maybe less depending on how much you wear them. Go to a nail salon and get a pedicure along with the paraffin wax treatment. Once you get all the wax off your feet, slide them into your freshly broken in rainbows… there is literally nothing better. Breaking them in was totally worth it. Not to mention they last for years!

I'm a sandal man. These are my go-to choice
Well, I decided it was time to but some new Rainbows. I usually keep a black pair and a brown pair. You know, for fashion. I actually had to throw out my black pair not long ago. It was unexpectedly heartbreaking to toss them in a trash can on the streets of New Orleans, but I had been doing a lot of walking that weekend, and they had gotten wet, and it was humid, and they were old, and I was getting blisters. Mind you, I wear sandals every damn day if it's above 50F. My feet are strong. But this was just a bad combination of circumstances, and they had to go, replaced by some cheap sneakers from Payless, just to get me through the day.Anyway. I noticed today that the brown ones are wearing a little thin. Still totally serviceable and comfortable, but the soles are pretty bare now, so their end-of-life looms in the near future. So I get on Amazon to reorder.Guess when I made my previous purchase. I bought the brown ones in 2012 and the blacks in 2013. I'm not exaggerating when I say I wear them every day and everywhere. To work, to the lake, to the beach, doing yard work, walking the dog. I've traveled countless miles in them. They've been wet, sandy, sun-baked, and abused. To have gotten five good years out of them is simply impressive. And so, I confidently return to buy a new pair (or two) of the double layer Rainbows. So when my current flops finally give up the ghost, I've got a replacement, broken in and ready to go, with no down time. They're more expensive than I'd want to spend on sandals, but they're worth it. I wear a 9.5 in most shoes, and my feet are EE wide. The Rainbows Medium fits me great. The strap starts out a little snug, but it quickly stretches ever so slightly to accommodate my fat flippers. Then it holds that shape over the years, which is nice, because a good fitting thong means I'm not wearing out my toes, curling them with each step to keep the shoe from flying off. This is just a comfortable, durable, and well-fitting shoe, with a great warranty on top of all that.Trust me. I'm a sandal guy. I buy Rainbows.

Order 1.5 size larger than your normal size.
I have returned this item once simply because the it is too small. I am 5'6 and 180lbs male, normally wear 7 sized shoes. M size (8.5-9.5) fits me well. The quality is 👍 for all details I can tell. Buy it for life!

Fantastic product! I bought my first pair of double soled Rainbows 15 years ago and have now finally replaced them! They are extremely comfortable, supportive and definitely built to last. The product is more expensive than others for a reason: THEY ARE SUPERIOR!

Greatest sandals of all time
Took a long time to break in, and toughen up in between my toes where the strap sits , but now I never want to take them off
