Great read for those interested in crystals and the crystal skulls
This 236 page book from 2008 contains photos and illustrations throughout and includes facts, as well as historical analysis involving crystal skulls and the journies of some of the more famous skulls. Included are the Mitchell-Hedges, Max, Sha-Na-Ra, the Mayan Crystal Skull, and the Amethyst Crystal Skull.Authors David Hatcher Childress (archeologist and explorer) and Stephen Mehler (prehistorian and archeologist) discuss detailed examinations of several famous skulls, the stories behind, and the probability of fact or fiction, the methodology for dating and classifying skulls, and the work of Nick Nocerino (also known for his Sha-Na-Ra skull)as a leader in skull research. Our authors discuss the history of Mesoamerica's Olmecs, Zapotecs, Maya, and Aztecs in relation to the stories that follow the discovery and origins of certain skulls. You will even find an explanation of HOW skulls store information, based on the studies and theories of Dr Marcel Vogel. Detailed testing was performed on some of these skulls with varing media.I found this book to be very detailed and very meaty in its desire to provide clarity on the skulls, their usage, and their authentication. If you are drawn to know more about crystal skulls, I highly recommend this book, even if you have read other skull books (as I have). Based on the level of detailed analysis, I wouldnot hesitate to purchase more from this author.

Simply the most comprehensive presentation of the subject available
What are the crystal skulls? Who made them and why? How many are there? Which ones are the most famous? Where did they come from? Who found them? Where? When? Which ones are what they're believed to be? Which ones aren't? Stunning photos, great stories, by two very engaging and knowledgable authors whose curiousity leaves few stones unturned. Who could ask for more?

Crystal skulls
Fascinating ideas with amazing illustrations. The author's language is lucid and the style is engaging to encourage one to read additional books by the same author. Scholarly and serious approach. Definitely not an Indiana Jones adventure!

HOURS OF DELIGHTFUL READING!
CANNOT FIND THE NAME OF THE BOOKS I HAVE ORDERED AND READ. BUT I CANNOT SAY I DID NOT LIKE THEM, LET THEM BE PAPERBACK OR KINDLE BOOKS THEY ARE ALL WHAT I EXPECT THEM TO BE. I WOULD, AND WILL, HIGHLY RECOMMEND AMAZON TO ANYONE, FOR I SINCERELY THINK "YOU ARE THE TOP!"

Long winded and rambling
Yet another curio book that could be condensed to about 100 pages or less and really badly written, don't expect a clear presentation of the salient points , worth a peek behind the curtain of the famous film tho...

Stephen Mehler and David Hatcher Childress are experts in this field and provide fascinating information about a little-known field.
