Trial and error
I’m 5’4 245 lbs and I have huge thighs and calves. I tried other shin guards like the other fairtex ones and I tried a venum kind and no straps would wrap around my calf correctly. Or they’d come apart when I’d kick. These are perfect i got a XL and they stay in place, they’re comfortable and I have more strap length to work with if I ever needed to. Fits perfectly for bigger legged people.

True to size, Cream not White
5' 10" 165 pounds and medium fit perfect.4/5 stars only because the white are very much a cream color, not paper white like shown.Would still recommend.

Great protection and movement
AWESOME Equipment! Just buy them!I use them exclusively. They stay on and pivot great when working kicks.Go with the low budget brands if you want. But, if you’re serious get the FAIRTEX brand.

Great shin guards.
Very protective shin guards without being too heavy. Stays in place really well while sparring. I will say the padding on the strike surface is a bit on the harder side, so training partners might feel more of a sting if you are a harder kicker.

Great guards. Beware of sizing if you’re a bigger person!
Beware of sizing. Initially ordered a size L, however, they were too small. I have very large calves, so returned those and got XL. Those work great!

Not a Review
Only worn once, so not able to provide a review yet.All of the photos made these look closer to a Royal blue, but they’re definitely more of a navy blue. It wasn’t clear if they’d match the blue BGV14 gloves, so I went with the grey.Initial impressions: they’re easy to put on and feel fairly secure, but felt like they moved a bit in class. They’re my first and only shin guards, so this may be common. Especially on smaller calves. They also wore down some skin just above the ankle.I bought these because they leave room for knee pads, half the people in class have the SP5s, and because I just think they look nicer.
