Fire and Rescue

One of the Best Family Documentaries of Life as a Firefighter!
Originally, I saw this show on VHS in 1994 and I have to say that it's one of the best children documentaries about life as a firefighter. Unlike previous kid shows that go inside the fire house with humorous antics and corny acting thrown in, "Fire & Rescue" takes a much more serious and realistic approach to the world of firefighting. Firefighter Mike played by actor Peter Linde, takes viewers into the fire academy where recruits learn the ropes of their chosen profession and right into the harrowing real life action of what life is really like on the frontlines of fighting fires and responding to other daring emergencies.Along the way, Mike explains how the many different vehicles and equipment operate and also shows how firefighters help out in the community by playing with kids and showing them around the fire house. The show also combines an excellent soundtrack that turns up the excitement of responding to emergencies when the bell goes off. I would highly recommend this DVD to anyone who has kids that are interested in firefighting.

Great video for kids!! Highly recommend!
Great video for kids! I have a 6 & 3 year old and they love firemen:) this video shows them "what fireman do all day." It keeps their attention the whole time. ...and speaking of time, it's only 30 minutes long so be prepared for the kiddos to ask to watch it again! ;) I would highly recommend this video and all of the Fred Levine videos (we also have Farm Country by Fred Levine that shows where some of their food comes from). We've borrowed from the library Road Construction, Cleared for Take Off, and the house building one (can't remember the title) and would recommend those also, they're on my Amazon wish list!

He can enjoy it over and over again because it repeats
We broke our first video so we're back for another! Now what does THAT tell you about this video? Very well done and engaging for our three year old. He can enjoy it over and over again because it repeats. We usually get three plays out of it before we have to switch to another one in the series. Check them all out! You won't regret it!

Great entertainment for kids
This is my grandson's favorite show. I thought that it was a little pricy until I realized that this DVD contained different episodes from this producer and that made it a good deal. Besides "Fire and Rescue," the DVD containes "Cleared for Take Off" and "Where the Garbage Goes." It does not say on the box that these other two episodes are in the DVD.

Not worth the high price.
This is a cute, informative movie and my three boys enjoyed it, but beware it is only 30min and it's pretty much ancient. My thought is, I would only purchase this again if the price were to drop, maybe to $9 or $11 at the most. Or just buy one used and hope it was in decent shape. I paid well over $20 and it's definitely NOT worth that much!

Great DVD for boys
My son absolutely loved this DVD when he was 3-5 year old and watched it countless times - I think it is also available with two other DVD's on one disc by the same company, would recommend to anyone with young boys. Bear in mind you need a multi-region DVD player if in UK.
