2001: The Lost Science Volume 2

2001: The lost Science Vol. 2 is a continuation of the beautiful picture history of the movie and interviews with the scientist that were prominent at the time the movie was being films It expands on the scientific theories that were used to make the story a reality. To those of you who have read the book this book helps bring the words to life. It has a fold out showing the Discovery ship, the one they took to Jupiter, and the evolution of the shuttle to the space station. The variety of the information presented is too extensive to put in this review.Richard Lee Whitten.

A lot of information is packed into this book. As an extra, a DVD is included with various short clips from NASA, the Air Force, etc.

This book is an absolute must for any fan of Kubrick's 2001:A Space Odyssey. The perfect companion to the first volume. My only dissapointment was that this book was not the same size as the first volume,being slightly smaller,they don't sit neatly together on the bookshelf. That aside, highly recommended.

If you liked the first volume, this is more of the same. Detailed looks at the ships and tech of 2001: A Space Odyssey, There are many detailed illustrations of the Orion, the Moonbus and a fold out of Discovery. Also there's a DVD with some documentaries about space projects and ideas of the time, including NERVA and early Mars probes. Volume 1 is already out of print - don't miss this one...

Love it

Just like the first volume, this one is a treat for fans of the film. Filled with very high quality images and blueprints of the vehicles. The oversize format really encourages an in-depth study of each page. Highly recommended.
