Replaced the starter in my 1999 Yamaha Exciter 270 worked like a charm, Ill update later if needed.

Worked for a season then shorted out
Worked great upon first install, got me through a summer. Pulled it out to start it and nothing. Diagnosed it as open starter windings. Should be made to last more than a year.
