Great quality for a great price
As an older single male, I don’t really cook much and resort to more simple meal preparations. But lately I started to cook a little more. I used a cheap knife I had laying around and it just didn’t feel sharp anymore. This knife is slightly on the bigger side. I think a 6” blade might be more standard for people. But it’s still perfectly fine to use and not overwhelming in size. It’s pretty lightweight and handles great. Comfortable grip and a sharp blade make cutting and chopping easy.I’m pleasantly surprised at the quality for such a cheap price. Time will tell on longevity but the knife feels like it’ll last a long time. I was so pleased with this that I bought another Mercer paring knife for smaller cuts. From casual to hardcore cooks, I think these are extremely well made and serve its purpose at a bargain price.

Excellent value for price
I was kicking around the idea of a new knife, and after having worked in a kitchen professionally for a year or so, I was 100% over the quality of the target knives, etc. They're junk.Started looking at more expensive knives. Hatched a hair-brained idea to spend a lot of good money on maybe some Japanese knives, just to have the quality. Couldn't bring myself to do that, since it's a lot of money, and I'm certainly not as demanding as a full-blown professional chef. Decided to see if I could instead find the best value knife - one that did it's job well, could be sharpened and maintained easily, had a good handle, and that was actually affordable. This thing delivers. The handle is honestly great. It's meaty, ergonomic, and rubberized (not the hardened plastic style like many professional kitchens use). The steel is sturdy, thin where you want it, and thick enough where you need it to whack through the heavier stuff. Overall, the knife is quite a lot thinner than a lot of the faberware crap you'll find at Target. Lighter too. But in terms of up-to-the-task capabilities of the knife, it blows that stuff out of the water. The last thing I love, is that there's no bolster at the heel of this knife - so you can actually sharpen it, and as it wears, it will do so uniformly. You won't get one of those weird bump/valleys (like you do with the bolstered designs) that stirs the rage of a thousand suns within you, because that bolstered design is intended to just make you buy new knives. You can sharpen this one, over and over, and the edge of your blade will always meet the cutting board. It won't hang in the air like a suspension bridge from a steel pillar of useless, unsharpenable material at the heel of the blade.Anyway. Just by the d*mn thing. It's an awesome value for the money.Love the knife. Will be buying again.

Excellent Knife at a Great Price
This is a great knife for the price! It feels really comfortable in my hand and has razor-sharp edges right out of the box. It’s durable, versatile, and handles a variety of tasks with ease. The fact that it’s dishwasher-friendly is an added bonus. Definitely a solid addition to any kitchen.

Best knife at this price
Probably the best knife you can get for this price point. I'm a fan of the handle style and the weight is good. The edge came sharp and is still sharp after years, I just take care of the edge. I use it for everything I cook, good balance of control, weight, and sharpness.

The price is right
Not that expensive but does the work, the only bad thing is when oil goes to handle.

Professional cook
My coworkers were jealous of me for this knife and couldn't believe the price. Holds an edge well and is super ergonomic. I prep for hours and get nowhere as tired or hand crampy. Mercer is usually a solid choice for me. Much recommend
