A Great All Purpose Shirt
When it's cold, I think a smart move is to dress in layers. This winter is colder than usual. Which is why I ordered this base layer shirt. I'm glad I did. It fits well, is comfortable, and keeps me warm! And it looks great. So when it warms up I'll wear it as a stand alone shirt.

Great base layer
I have been very happy with my Carhart base layers. I am a waterfowl and upland hunter. As my older stuff wears thin I am replacing with all Carhart.

Not What I Expected
It was another cold winter day. I had on my Carhartt Thermal top. The top is a heavyweight cotton top and it is comfortable and warm. Right then and there I decided I need more of these. I should have paid more attention to the product description. These thermals are thin and flimsy in comparison to the old thermal tops. Air passes through the sleeves easily and makes them feel cooler than the originals. No cuffed sleeves. I would wear the original without another layer and feel warm and comfortable. Not with this shirt. Now I need an additional layer to feel the same warmth. It defeats the whole reason for buying the thermal top. When it comes to buying clothing, brick and mortar stores are better. I would of passed if I saw and tried these on in a store.

Tall size is awesome
6'4 210 Lbs. Tall Hard to find something that fits properly being tall and slim. I must say this shirt is awesome and warm. Keeps you warm but not hot as you work. Keeps wicking away the sweat when you get active with work but need the layers. Have bought two so far and I am sure there will be more to come.

Okay
These shirts are not bad however they’re a little short in the torso which was my only drawback for not loving these.

Great fit, looks like it could be cotton
The fit of the shirt is perfect; this is the happy medium between loose fitting and skin-tight clothing. I'm wearing a medium size, and I'm 5'9" tall, 165 lb, 39" chest, 32" waist for reference. I was worried that the shirt was polyester and NOT cotton. A lot of polyester clothing has a tacky shininess to it. However, if you see this in real life, and maybe you can tell from the pictures, but it looks like it can pass for cotton. The shirt is pretty low friction, and combine that with the thumb loops, and it makes it really easy to slip outerwear on top. The thumb loops are stretchy/elastic, and they retract back into the sleeve when not in use. In terms of looks and fashion, the shirt exudes a simple, no-nonsense, clean dad sort of look. The seams look nice and add character to an otherwise plain shirt. One important thing to note is that there are two VERY DIFFERENT styles to choose from: the square waffles, and the diamond waffles. The negative reviews all seem to stem from the diamond patterned waffles. The one I have on is the square patterned waffles. The one thing people have been saying negatively about this thermal, and it's true, is that the cloth is relatively thin and lightweight. However, it still somehow does a surprisingly good job of keeping warm air in and cold air out. I've tested this outdoors while running, and while my hands were getting numb from the cold, I was still warm. I'll update this review later if the shirt gets any wear and tear over time.

Need more
It's my first Carhartt, never had one before as they tend to be pricey.I had a need for a good base layer garment so decided I'd try it out. It fits great, is very soft and comfortable, and was plenty warm for my needs. Looking for others now.

Still sweat in it
I thought with the waffle-type fabric that I would sweat less while skiing. However I sweat as much as I do in all my base undershirts.
