Littles: And How They Grow

This is a beautiful story with beautiful artwork. I would equate this book to Sesame Street in that - the story is just as enjoyable and geared towards the adult as it is towards the child. It is a gentle rhyme (meaning the words aren't a stretch just to fit into the rhyme and actually make sense!) and also include a lot of words that an early talker will know - my daughter loves reading along to "knee" - "kiss" - "duckies" - "bath" - "chair". She loves to look at the pictures and point out the "milk" "dog" etc. The book also shows diversity without the book being about diversity (normalizing it). And per the reviewer who complained that this book doesn't touch upon the older child/baby relationship, please! Not every book can do everything, first of all, but ALSO, there are pictures of older siblings taking care of the baby (plus the line "littles are cherished by kindhearted kin"). The last line of the book nearly brings me to tears every time - I absolutely love it.

Sweet book but not great for the older brother or sister of the new baby, because it's all about the new baby, and not likely to be appreciated by the two-yr-old who is already sick and tired of the new baby. Maybe it would be okay for pre-new baby, but even then, not enough is said about the important role the big bro or sis can play in the future. And without them, I'm not sure who the target audience would be....

Littles is my favorite book that we have received in our Amazon subscription box! We try to buy one book a week, and I was surprised as I read it aloud the first time when I felt a lump form in my throat. The words and illustrations are modern-day--think swaddles and boppys rather than cradles and teddy bears. I always buy "Love you Forever" as a board book for all baby showers, and now I've found a second book that will be on my "must gift" list. Thank you for introducing me to this wonderful book. I can't wait to see the next gems by this author! It's so precious--you will not regret buying it in the board book format.

I love the illustrations in this book. Unlike other books that tout "diversity," this one truly has babies of all different ethnicities, with their opposite sex/same-sex parents and grandparents in same and mixed race families. It's a fun book; not necessarily one that would make a good bedtime story but a great one to read to your Little before he/she grows Big in the blink of an eye.

My 1yo granddaughter loves this book! She brings it to be read time and again. We received it as part of her book box and are thrilled with the choice.I love that it tastefully depicts a Mom nursing her baby I’ve rarely - if ever - seen that, and it’s great to see it included. There is also a baby with a bottle, so it’s balanced.Very sweet book. Highly recommend!

Just received my copy of Littles. The illustrations are clearly the work of someone who knows babies, their moods, their faces. I work in adoption and love that this book represents more than one version of a family. I cannot wait to recommend this to our waiting families!

this is one of the best books I have bought for my toddlers in a long time. I love the amount of reading and the pictures are AMAZING. I hope it eventually comes out in a Board book as I'd like to be able to leave it on the bookshelf in my classroom of toddlers.

My 17mo loves this book. We borrowed it from the library and then bought it because we were reading it so much. She literally throws it at us to read. It does have some similarities to 'Babies everywhere' in cadence and content, but still worth buying.
