Silver Spoon Kids : How Successful Parents Raise Responsible Children

great financial advice
Great financial advice, especially the early parts of the book. Some later sections are applicable only in special situations. For example, not everyone will want to or has a need to set up a family foundation, but maybe joining a public foundation could be a meaningful way to engage in philanthropy with your children. Having clear money values is important (and by extension, general life values as well). Just something I never thought about much before.

What great ideas for how not to ruin your kid!
The book was well written with great ideas and examples of how to deal with money and kids/young adults at any age. The concept of having the child manage their own trust well in advance of them receiving it was fabulous. It also helped explain why kids of affluent parents often meander unhappily through life and how to make sure that doesn't happen to your kids.

Good Advice
Read the one star rating saying you don't need to give an allowance to teach the kids to manage money. You don't have to, but it a very effective way to teach them. My kids learned this way in addition to the experiences suggested. Nothing like spending your own money.

OK
I questions some of the concepts. We are Christians and are perspective is Biblical based.

Perfect, Easy Read
This book is great for people who are upper middle class or are well off financially. It is also great for anyone who wants to have a great starting point for having financial conversations with your kids.Lots of tips and ideas for how to talk to your kids about finances and money.

Terrible quality!
A little slow to start, but the overall content of the book is great! The quality of the book itself, however, was terrible! The entire book appears to be a photocopy and every 4th page with distortion of text. Interestingly, the my phone camera actually does a good job “filling in” the parts of the text that are significantly “lighter/faded”.

Silver Spoon Kids
Great book to help you raise happier, better adjusted children. But it is also about helping you with you own issues around money. It is not a book just for the wealthy. It is for anyone with a moderate degree of affluence.

Great book
This is the book to know how to raise healthy kids but without sense of entitlement, a little bit repetitive but still it has great advice.
