Chicaoji is a complex, addictively delicious hot sauce made from a blend of chipotle chilies, goji berries, cacao nibs and apple cider vinegar. The ingredients were selected not just for their deliciousness, but also their nutritional properties. It can be used anywhere as you would any other hot sauce.

So delicious!
We first found this amazing sauce on a trip to Orcas island. We brought some home, but then couldn't find more anywhere when that bottle ran out. Amazon to the rescue--we got a huge bottle of the yumminess in no time. It's pleasantly spicy (but not overpowering), a little smokey, a little sweet...basically all good things in a bottle.

Far more than a hot sauce
This is far beyond a traditional hot sauce that just adds some heat to a bland dish. Chicaoji's unique and glorious flavor profile raises standard meals to new heights of yum. I usually buy it on trips to the Northwest but ran out and was delighted to find it available to order here. Quick delivery, securely packaged, and had it first thing this morning on my eggs. Delicious!

Very Vinegary Taste
The name of this sauce is misleading. It would be better described as a vinegar sauce with chipotle. I was expecting something spicy, smokey (from the chipotle), rich (from the cacao nibs) and maybe a tad sweet (from the agave nectar) but this has an immediate sharp vinegar punch followed a little bit of spice and a faint hint of smoke. Cacao seems to be mostly absent in the flavor profile. It is what I would for sure call "mild" even though they list it as medium spice.I checked their website and here are the ingredients (in descending order by weight):- Raw & unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the Mother of Vinegar- Water- Raw dried goji berries- Chipotles- Raw agave nectar- Celtic Sea Salt- Raw cacao nibsNot surprising that it is mostly apple cider vinegar and water. It might be good as an ingredient in a marinade or sauce and I like their focus on healthy ingredients, but, as a standalone sauce it is not my favorite. Plus, it happens to be expensive but the taste of this is reminiscent of budget sauces (Tabasco, Frank's Red Hot, etc.) that use vinegar as a filler because it is relatively cheap. I would pass unless you really like the taste of vinegar.

Eggs' best friend
This is not a normal hot sauce, this has so much more flavor and very reasonable heat. My absolute favorite on eggs.

I love this sauce
I love this sauce....on potatoes, eggs, tacos, put in soup, it pretty much makes everything better, and I've never thought that about any hot sauce. The apple cider vinegar is prominent in the sauce and I'd say low to medium on the spice range. It's very unique in flavor...different than any other hot sauce I've ever had. I absolutely love it.

The most flavorful hot sauce!
This a consistently good product. Chicaoiji has a nice balance of flavor, heat, and healthy. Our family uses it on meat and veggies at the table. We cook with it in the kitchen, and usually pass a few bottles out as gifts when traveling.

I'm happy to see it making an appearance for sale on ...
This is a local sauce, where I come from. Made on Lopez Island, Washington, I'm happy to see it making an appearance for sale on Amazon. We can't live without this sauce in our home.
