I gave this to my sister for her birthday. She adores it! Not only is it beautiful, but it is just the right size for many uses...not too big, not too small. Very pretty salad bowl but it cracked after a few uses. Not enough so we can't keep using it, but you can see it. Don't know whether it's because the air is too dry or too wet, or what. We followed the instructions, never put it in the dishwasher, etc. We like it and will continue to use it with the crack (it doesn't leak.

This item is indeed a quite beautiful! A few months later I came back to my home in Utah and noticed it was cracked from the side all the way down to the center. I moved many years back and it has been in the box since then. The idea was to glue it back together but the crack is more than 3 mm wide.

The reason for the low rating is not because I didn't like the salad bowl. It was actually very nice. But whoever packaged it for shipping did a poor job. It was in a box twice as big as the bowl, with little to no packaging material.So when I received it, it had a big chip off of the rim of the bowl. I know it was chipped during shipping because the chip was in the box. I returned it for credit. Had to find a replacement locally, as it was a gift for my niece.

Still usable as salad bowl. The quality control could be much better. Will not be purchasing the match bowls or tongs.

the actual bowl is nice, as expected, but unfortunately there was white mold all over it when I received it.

I bought this for my mom for a holiday gift and we both love it. The wood still looks great after a few years, and I doubt she oils it often. My family mostly uses it for salads, and the Pacific Merchants 12 in Wood Fork and Spoon set was a perfect partner.
