Wow! Just Wow!
I've been in real estate in different capacities as an appraiser, an inspector, a capital analyst, an underwriter, a real estate salesperson, and underwriter... and an investor... over the past 30+ years, and this is probably the most specific book I've read, geared toward college level studies of Syndication for commercial real estate. I highly recommend this if you beginning or intermediate in syndication, or you've done it, but want to be able to do it right. Just a first start - not complete
Of the 496 pages of this book only 183 are actually dedicated to talking about syndication. The rest of the book consists of boiler plate contract after boiler plate contract that can't be readily used and, considering this book's latest edition was 2006, are probably out of date anyway.Of the 183 usable pages, I found little that could offer me a constructive roadmap for actually putting together syndication. The fault probably lies in the fact that the author attempts to cover a lot of ground in his writing; from many types of real estate to movies and even oil & gas syndications. Perhaps if he were to focus on one or two specific types of syndications and really go into more detail about the steps one should follow to make a successful syndication work this book would have been more useful to me.As it is, it's a first step. I'll be looking for more real estate specific reference material that better describes from the syndicator's perspective details that I can put into actual use.

Good source of information.
This book is definitely for intermediate level readers/investors. This is used as a textbook in classes and has a lot of information. Its a step by step process and with a lot of details. If you get bored easily, I would not recommend this book.

I want to like it - but ....
I try and I try to understand why I keep this book around. Maybe it is because there are very few good books on the subject of syndication. This is not one of them.

good value
Overall a good value as a Kindle book because of the substantial discount from hard copy. However, the tables are misaligned - almost useless in some cases. Fortunately, there aren't too many.
