Maybe it’s just me but, the local reservoir where I fish from my kayak is 100 ft deep, this thing was reading over 700 ft????

Having never used a fish finder, I did didn't want to invest a lot. After studying many low-priced options, I selected this one. I have used it several times and found that it does everything I need. I can't imagine that a fish finder that cost hundreds of dollars with lots of whistles and bells would be that much more effective. I love that it is light weight. I've used it for several hours on several trips, and the original battery still shows fully charged. It very accurately tells me how deep it is where I am and how deep the fish are. I love the beep each time a fish goes underneath it to alert me. I am 100% pleased with this purchase. Every time I've used this, we've released more than we kept and had no trouble catching our limit in an hour or so. It really makes fishing fun.I've found it works best from a boat or dock. Throwing it out into the water only works for a short time because the weight of the cord pulls the float and sensor back to you in a few minutes. Dangling it over the side of a boat, raft, dock, or other stationary floating platform is best.

Pretty self explainatory once you finish the directions, love the alarm feature, does make it easier to use. Also fits a cell phone mount -- see pics.Can't comment on the portability -- mounted to my fishing boat, but I did try the float and it worked, so I guess it could be portable?Accurate as can be for only down imaging, managed to pull two from a lake I've never got anything out of. Pretty excited to try more locations I haven't gotten bites at.

Has been a fun toy with Ice fishing. It is slow to respond and you will catch fish that it never shows. Is great for depth readings. Battery lasts a lot longer than listed even in the cold. Sure the screen will freeze if kept too cold for a long time.

I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday, we weren’t able to actually take it out of the package and test it until two weeks after. Unfortunately we were extremely let down when the thing wouldn’t even turn on… seriously disappointed.
