After using this magical device, no other overdrive will ever compare. This truly sounds and feels like an amplifier. The key to using this pedal is reading the manual so you completely understand the controls and finding the right post-drive EQ settings for your guitar and amp.Even into a Deluxe Reverb, I actually found the recommended EQ1 setting with its prominent low pass filter a little too dark for my taste. EQ2 seemed to bring out a more natural sound, with the related ADJ knob turned up nearly all the way.I’m after a classic JTM45 sound a la Cream, Hendrix, or early AC/DC. That’s in there. So is the classic, more aggressive Super Lead sound. What’s so great about this pedal though, is the ability to combine features of your favorite amps, and a lot of that lies in the “more/pres” control, which either reduces negative feedback or adds presence. I find I enjoy setting this pedal to straddle Fender tweed and early Marshal territory, keeping the highs a little low, adding in some bass, and talking out some negative feedback. The end result is a thick, throaty and vocal overdrive.The icing on the cake here, is the blend control, which adds your clean signal in and reduces gain. This might be the most powerful control here. I find the pedal sounds it best when you judiciously add some of your clean signal back in. It makes everything sound more natural and smoother.This pedal is not cheap, but it’s worth the money. If you’re after classic overdriven amp sounds, the only other pedals you’ll need might be the classic boost options (Tubescreamer, Klon, etc.) or your favorite fuzzes. Run your fuzzes into this pedal for a wonderful recreation of your favorite solo sounds. It is the most “amp in a box” amp in a box pedal I’ve ever experienced.

As a many different amplifiers of many different manufacturers ( all non master volume ) this device is stunning. As an overdrive, it is almost impossible to get an inauthentic ( and depending on taste ) a bad sound. It slices surgically through the sonic spectrum with it's seemingly very interactive controls, and follows the structures of the anatomies of various amps very closely. With this device, and a KTR, I have what I have been looking for and pushing manufacturers to create for 25 years.
