I use anise oil in cookies I make. Other brands are bland and do not have much flavor. This brand is strong and fragrant. Made the cookies taste so good! Also gave my kitchen a great fragrance! Won’t use any other brand from now on.

People either love anise or hate it. As an anise lover I find that it is undoubtably the most wonderful flavor, irreplaceable in Italian food and in candies. But in a family where there is only one other anise lover I find that the seeds put into a recipe can be, as a product of chance, given to the "wrong" person. This is the perfect solution. An amount equal to a drop or two per serving distributes just enough flavor for me and the other anise lover to enjoy the food, but isn't enough to drive off the others.Also drop or two in a mixed drink will turn an ordinary cocktail into something entirely marvelous. Try two drops in an otherwise plain Manhattan and you'll see what I mean.

This is star anise oil not sweet anise/fennel oil. It is a very accurate scent but not what I wanted for my baked goods. Those require sweet anise. Yes, the label is accurate in this case, it usually isn't, manufactures seem to use the star anise to represent both star anise and sweet anise/fennel flavorings and oils and actually the fine print as well which I didn't read until after, my bad.

Hogs love this stuff, spread this on a bucket of feed corn and add a gallon of apple juice, let it set out in the Sun for two weeks, good hunting.

THIS IS NOT ANISE (Pimpinella anisum) OIL.It is STAR ANISE (Illicium verum) oil.You could be forgiven for thinking this is Anise oil, because the product states it is 100% pure anise oil over and over again. Then they throw in "Our star anise oil is the essential oil made from the star-shaped fruit of the Illicium Verum tree." in the description. It would be as if I was selling chocolate then slipped in a note about it not being chocolate in the description.

Bought this for my anisette cookies that I make as this is extremely difficult to purchase anywhere other than on Amazon. Only need a few drops ut everyone loves the Italian home made anisette cookies. Very pleased thank you
