Considering the fact that the manufacturers are willing to adapt this unit to the american power standard, the price may seem steep but for all the different things you can do with it, it is worth ten times what I paid for my unit & it is simple to operate. To be sure, there is a lot of work that goes on in making Soy milk or Tofu or whatever else but it is well worth the effort when you taste a pure unfettered product not weighed down by so many different chemical preservatives or any sort of stuff listed on every can or package that are tough words to pronounce. If there was one tool above all else to really consider if you are attempting to become a vegan on a purely plant based diet, this unit would be that one essential tool because it is easy to clean & very versatile. Right now, I use it to make soy milk, soy cereal milk which is just the soy milk with the addition of the left over ground soy beans added to the final product to make a drinkable cereal which is a time saver when you are in a hurry. It also makes tea if you know how to create your own homeopathic blends.
