The characters were interesting and the friendships lasting. Good life examples. I recommend this book to anyone loving Western literature.

Read all of the books in order to really enjoy. Storyline continues to grow and develop. Characters are realistic and get better and better.

Enjoyed the book very much , feat read and keeps your interest. I like that when bad things happen the writer did not make gross. The story flawed very well, and the ending was perfect!

I finished this book … I enjoyed this book … but not quite as much as other western’s I’ve enjoyed. I think there are too many characters, and that these characters “unbalanced” the story line. I respect that authors are truly blessed when it comes to their writing skills and talents; and I admire their ability to share this talent with us; but for me - it was a little hard to follow.

A mediocre story at best, and poorly told at that. Badly in need of an editor as sometimes the reader must backtrack to determine who is speaking. Many scenes and characteristics appear suddenly as explanations for an upcoming chapter or action.

Great western, Indians, Fort life and great suspense. Lots of plot twists and two wonderful characters you'll hate to say good by to.

although the writer has to develop better editing techniques as there were some jumps which would help. Enjoyable read, caused me to look up "Barlow" in hopes that the author has taken time to refine the skills.

I have liked these books in the past but this one was long and slow.
