KOHLER 6449-ST Sink Racks for Whitehaven K-5826 and K-5827 Sinks, Stainless Steel

This was just perfect to protect my farmhouse sink. I was getting scratches and gray marks from pots and pans and utensils. These racks are perfect!

We bought a new market built home that came with a white apron/farmhouse style sink. MAN!! this sink scratches… badly. Found the model number from under the sink and quickly found this sink grates. The fit is perfect and keeps all the pots and pants from scratching the bottom.

I've tried the sink both with and without these sink racks. I've used a plastic tub in the sink and a plastic mat. I think I'd rather have these in the sink for several reasons. One, when I rest the plastic tub down in the sink without these racks, food and water get trapped under and behind the tub. With these, the water can clean under and around the tub, then allow the sink to dry between uses. Two, I use enameled cast iron pots a LOT. They are able to rest on these racks without me worrying about getting hard things (tiny piece of bone, grit, etc) getting trapped under the pot and scratching the sink and the pot. Three, my hubby rested a tin can holding grease on the sink overnight...rust??? Not! One last thing, I can lay my hot pan or pot on these with no worries about thermal shock to the cold sink. I got them at Amazon Warehouse Deals for less so, it's worth it.Edit: It's been a year now. I LOVE these racks! My drain is never closed up with too many things resting in the sink. These racks always allow water to drain. My garden is beginning to come in. I can rinse and drain all of my veggies on these racks. They fit in the top rack of the dishwasher. I was just thinking the other day that I don't know what I'd do without them! I'm so glad I got them!Edit: Just got through canning season. I simply don't know how I canned before without my large sink and racks! As I was working tonight, I kept thinking this was one of the best decisions we made on our new kitchen.

If you have the Kohler farm sink you must have this rack it's awesome.

My sink is opposite of the Kohler sink these racks are made for - my drain is on the upper left side. I looked for a couple of months for a wire sink protector that fits my sink, no go, so I bought the plastic sink liner that can be trimmed to customize to my sink. All was well and good but it left circular water marks from the design of the mat. Plus, being flat to the surface, I had to constantly lift them up and make sure everything was cleaned. No amount of baking soda and vinegar completely took the marks away. I finally found this set and just flip-flopped the racks - they work just fine - they're not flush to each other but that is not important to me so I am very satisfied with this product.

This is "ok" but it moves around in the sink a lot and seems a bit too light gauge. I'm getting a metal fabricator to join it together and add S/S perforated sheet to the surface inside the frame.
