Product broke just trying to adjust the flash in a forward position. Don’t waste your money

This is a great bracket for Macro and Close up photography. Some might say a "Ring-light" works better, but that type of flash gives you the same boring surround lighting effect which might not fit the subject.With this bracket, I have way more flexibility than a ring light. I can use the built-in flash on my camera as a main light with another flash unit connected to one of the arms of the bracket as fill. Or I can use 2 fill lights connected to each of the arms on the bracket, or just one fill light using the Sun as my main light.The bracket is not very easy to set up, because of the rather stiff arms. This is not the type of bracket to use if you are shooting fast-paced candids ! For Macro and Close-up work though it's great ! It gives you a lot of flexibility when it comes to the placement of the lights.The bracket even comes with 2 small ball-heads attached to each arm that you can use to swivel the flash unit(s) even further. I replaced the 2 (cold) hot-shoes it came with, with hot-shoes that have a sync plug, this way I can fire off small (low powered) manual flash units .This flash bracket can barely hold my very compact Sunpak 211 flash unit with batteries, but it still does a good job keeping the flash units in place no matter what angle they are in. This explains the very stiff arms ! I have not tried it with heavier flash units like my Canon 580EX, but my guess is that they might be too heavy and cumbersome for this bracket(I could be wrong).Time will tell how long this bracket will hold up. The small ball- heads seem kind of fragile and I really needed to tighten them pretty tight, to prevent my flash units from swiveling.Another flaw and it's the reason I took one star from my review, is that the hot-shoes that it came with do not seem to fit any flash unit I have tried and I have a lot of flash units. They are way to tight and there is the possibility that you could even damage the foot on your flash unit ! Good thing they can be easily replaced though...Shipping was relatively fast since this bracket is not coming from China like other similar units.

Great concept but the arms are far too rigid to make this product usable. The rigidity was so strong that another fixed object was required to change the angle of the arms. After 1 day of use changing position, the metal internal cord snapped on one arm and the whole arm came off irreparably.

Great idea, terrible construction. Arms do not flex and snap off.
