Twin Element a Must
For anyone wondering, get the twin element model as it will heat up much more quickly. When running off a generator that has 220 volt capability, make sure you plug each element into different outlets so both hot to neutral legs are used. When up to temperature, you can unplug one leg to maintain temperature and use that outlet for plucker power. Generator size and starting capacity is critical when adding a motor but we found the 5KW worked fine for the setup we had. Cut a spare piece of plywood to cover the unit so it heats up faster. I marked down one star because the heating elements are unprotected and somewhat flimsy. I'd recommend a design change to incorprate a heavy mesh shield that is securely affixed to the tub. There is an over reliance on silicone for sealing when compression rings and rubber washers would be more durable. It would be worth the extra $20.

When you order it with too heat units the second one does not have a thermostat and so does not turn off on its own.

Works, but not as advertised
The 110/115/120V scalder is single element and it is only 1500 watts. The ad says it heats water to 155 in 10-15 minutes. That is a total lie. I drew water from the hose and it took 3 hours and 45 minutes to get it to 150. I filled it with water from my hot water tank at 125 and it took an hour to get it to 150. That is AFTER I wrapped it in fiberglass insulation and covered the top. I have recently replaced the element with a 2000 watt element and it works a bit faster but not much. Once 150 degrees is achieved, it maintains the temp well if you cover it between uses. Think about it, your home water heater probably has two 4500 watt elements in a closed tank with insulation running on 220/240V and if you fill it with cold water, will it be warm enough for a shower in 10-15 minutes? NO! so there is no way this scalder will ever achieve its advertised heating rate.
