Q: Can you use them as house shoes? Will the sticky dots cause you to stumble on a hardwood floor?

They're not really house shoes. They're just socks with little grip dots on the bottom. I love mine because they're like comfy socks and they keep me from slipping on tile, vinyl and laminate floors. I don't think they would cause stumbling on a hardwood floor.

Q: How many pairs per order?

It says clearly in the description: 6 pairs. They have various color choices - all gray; 3 white, 3 black; etc.

Q: If you wear a ladies size 8.5 shoe, which size of these socks would you get?

I wear a 7.5 and got a small they are actually too big. So I’d say they’d fit an 8.5 fine and they do stretch.

Q: What are the "washing instructions?" can these socks be machine washed and dried? if yes, then what are the recommended settings?

I machine wash (I don’t use hot water) and dry on the cotton setting. I had a knee replacement and these are wonderful because of the “grippies” for safety - no slipping. I have purchased them on at least three different occasions.
