Cybex Aton Q Infant Car Seat - Ocean

I didn't get my Cybex Aton Q seat from Amazon or get it in Ocean but I wanted to review the seat because its SO GOOD. I was originally looking at the Aton 2 but I didn't get the seat from Amazon because the sellers I contacted couldn't tell me the manufacture date (What?!) and I wasn't about to spend $249.00 on a seat that might not have many years left on it. I ended up finding an Aton Q on Albee Baby for 349 with a 100 gift certificate. This seat is worth the 249. Sure its more than the average Graco or Chicco but it also is easier to use, safer, and you can safely and easily use it without the base. This saved us about 100.00 in extra bases because we knew we would use the seat in at least 2 cars. This makes the seat about the same price (with the gift card or the Aton 2) as the cheaper seats. I love the european seat belt routing because the seat does not wiggle when installed without the base. It is also compatible with strollers if you get the adaptor.

My Aton Q was a gift and not purchased through Amazon, but I remember pouring over reviews and write ups on car seats when I was pregnant so I thought I'd provide feedback on the Aton Q. After lots and lots of research I knew I wanted an Aton because of it's outstanding safety features - no other carseat has the side impact things, and only one other has a load leg, it's also just a really well made seat. As far as carseats go, it's one of the most attractive ones out there, which probably doesn't matter to a lot of people, but I had my infant seat out and about a lot so I wanted one that I liked looking at. Using it without the base is easy once you've done it a couple of times, and it definitely seems more secure than American made car seats. Another great thing is that the Aton does not take up a ton of room in the back seat. We have the car seat behind our passenger seat and there is still plenty of leg room.So the reason I gave four stars rather than 5, I have found that snapping the seat into and out of a stroller is VERY difficult/sticky. It took me ages to even figure out how to do it, and even after using the seat for 11 months, getting it unclicked from the stroller takes some serious effort. I had sore thumbs for the first few months of my baby's life! We used it with the Maxi Cosi Maxi Taxi, I also have adaptors for it to go into my larger stroller but it was even harder to get out of those adapters so I never bothered. When I saw how easy it was for my friend to get her KeyFit out of her stroller I almost cried from jealousy.Overall, this is a great seat and I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again. I would just suggest to Cybex that they work on the travel system mechanism to make it a little more user friendly.

I didn't buy my cybex Aton q car seat from Amazon and I got it in moon dust but I wanted to review it because I love it so much! I actually had planned on getting the uppababy Mesa, but everywhere I looked it was sold out so I ended up choosing this one instead and I am so happy I did! It's so nice and I feel like my baby is so safe! She seems so comfortable and never gets overly hot and sweaty (like I've seen in reviews for some other car seats). It is on the heavy side but it's totally worth it to keep my little girl safe. The no re-thread harness is great and the canopy is amazing. Taking off the fabric to wash it was a little difficult (the instructions weren't very descriptive) but I looked up a video and that made it doable. The only thing that I would change about it is the mechanism for the travel system. The way you press the buttons for removing it from a stroller are not very intuitive (I'm still the only one in my family that knows how to do it and my parents have tried at least 20 times). Other than that, this car seat is great! I'm so happy with my choice and i'd definitely buy it all over again!

Like others have said, I did not buy my seat from Amazon but am so happy with it and so value others' reviews that I wanted to take the time to write this. I love this car seat. I am a crazy car seat lady (obsessed with safety) and this seat has safety features galore. It is also beautifully designed and functional (not as important but still nice). I first got the grey seat (a nice neutral) but after about 6 weeks of use had minor troubles with the canopy coming partially disconnected. I contacted Cybex to perhaps get a replacement canopy... for the price, I felt it should work perfectly. They shipped me an entirely new car seat. Now I have the Ocean color and it is quite a lovely seat... I get comments on it from people all the time. (Big sister has the Cybex MFix booster car seat in the Grape Juice color, and it is so pretty! And also an impeccably designed seat, but I digress). I use my Aton with a Bugaboo Bee+ frame and Maxi Cosi adapters... it could connect/disconnect easier, but I am used to how it works and whip the sucker in and out of my car and stroller frame multiple times a day at big sister's school pick up/drop off, errands, etc. So pleased with this seat and sad to be saying goodbye with it when my son soon grows out of it. Cybex, you rock.
