Fantastic Amplifier Board
The media could not be loaded. I have been playing with Bluetooth only boards for a while building speakers, but I use Airplay throughout my home and Spotify as my main music provider. The Arylic audio up2stream amp is a little more expensive than bluetooth only boards but seemed to be packed with a lot of wifi based features, so I took a gamble and purchased the Arylic audio board to see how it performs. To be honest, I am delighted. All the components on the board are good quality, I had a couple of questions before hand to the Arylic customer service team relating to the power supply and they were quick to respond and very helpful.I set mine up with a lithium ion battery set up, created a 24v battery bank and now the unit works both on mains power and on battery. For info, the volume with the battery is just as loud as with their 24v power adapter! A point to note here is that if you are going to use a battery bank, then you will need an external switch to turn the power on and off to the board otherwise it will just drain the battery! The 4stream app works well, and gives functionality to run multiple amps for a multi room set up.I use a multi room software from Rogue Amoeba called Satellite that allows me to create a multi room set up with all airplay devices and the Arylic audio integrated into this network as soon as it was connected to the network. It is automatically detected by any airplay enabled device. It has other features for Android users, but I don't have any Android devices so cant comment on that!Sound quality and volume is very impressive. I am not one of these crazy high end audiophiles with $10,000 speakers but I appreciate good sound quality, and this amp doesn't disappoint. Even from the little boombox I built (see video) the sound is clear, crisp and has minimal distortion at volume. This really is a great little amp and if you are looking for a simple multi room, or wifi enabled amp, this is really a good unit. They have just released a new version with 2.1 so you can add a subwoofer. It's a little more expensive, but I think it will be next on my list!

Nice feature set, great customer support
For a DIY board, this is a nice unit. It is capable of putting out a lot of good sound. It has its own app that is fairly intuitive. It supports native multi-platform streaming, although--at least with AirPlay--it doesn't fully support multi-point streaming, or at least it seems to have issues there. IOW, if you're streaming from iTunes to this board, you might not be able to stream to anything else at the same time.I have an odd issue with the WiFi on this board generating interference with some other 2.4GHz WiFi devices. I'm still troubleshooting this, and the Arylic tech support folks have been great to work with. They sent me a replacement unit, to be sure the interference wasn't a one-off bad part or something, and have been very helpful overall. The WiFi, Ethernet, and AirPlay/DLNA/etc. is handled by a Linkplay A31 plugin module, so I am now chasing Linkplay's tech support for more answers.UPDATE 1/5/22: The odd WiFi interference issue was ultimately resolved by a firmware update in my Ubiquiti UniFi access points. Go figure. Apparently there was a longstanding issue with IoT devices, which tend to use trashy WiFi stacks, and UniFi APs that has finally been addressed. Multi-point streaming works too, though these Arylic modules don't seem to fully sync with the rest of my AirPlay devices (a mix of Apple and third-party devices). They have about a half-second delay. In my configuration, they're far enough away from the other devices that it doesn't cause a problem, but if they were in an adjacent room to one of the other AirPlay audio devices, it would be a sonic mess.

Sonos for cheap
If you're like me and wanted Sonos but couldn't stomach paying Sonos prices, then this is exactly what you need. These devices show up on your network as remote devices that can be used in apps like Spotify, removing the need to deal with bluetooth. They can run wireless, or be hardwired. Multiple devices can be grouped and used in the same room and perfectly synced when hardwired. I am running two in my garage to power four speakers and the syncing is perfect. I love being able to play music and use my phone normally, since I'm often working in the garage and watching a youtube video or streaming a game but still want to listen to music. Just be mindful the device comes without a case or power supply and you'll probably want a 24V one to get the full power out of the device.
