Great value bars, just as good as ones twice the price

These are quite keenly priced and I got a pair to compliment some existing decathlon 2kg bars I had.The main downsides were:Soaked in machine oil - needed good clean before useSome swarf left over from manufacturing (small metal shavings) and I nicked myself slightly on this (nothing major) while cleaning them offSlightly narrow diameter grip but still fine for use, might suit smaller hands betterThe upsides:Well made despite leftovers from manufacturing processOnce cleaned seem well made and smooth threads for the locking ringGood value once you are aware of the initial need for cleaning, these cannot be used straight out of the box1.6kg is a handy weight and if you take it as being pretty much 1.5kg and you have other 2kg bars as you can go up in .5kgs as needed without micro platesTo be fair the bars are fine and if they were presented better out of the box then it would be 5 star, as long as you know what to expect the value is still good.

While these are nice and sturdy, and the lugs lock in place nicely, they are a tad short, which limits how many weights you can put on.It's my own fault for not checking the length, but nonetheless, if like me you have a lot of smaller weights and are too cheap to buy new, heavier ones until you absolutely have to, go for the 16 or 18 inch ones you can find elsewhere on Amazon. Going by the listings, they're all the same product, just different sellers, and the price difference is just a few pounds in exchange for being able to use them for longer before buying new weights.

I have original York bars but needs extra.These bars are exactly the same as the York but so much cheaper. The bolts stay in place just like the York ones.
