Amazing recipies and amazing attention to detail - a MUST buy for those living healthier lifestyles
I am transitioning to paleo, grain free and dairy free diet per a natropathic doctor's advice to assist me with adrenal issues and fertility issues. My husband also has insulin resistance and we need to reduce sugars and carbs, opting for a higher fat, low carb lifestyle. One of the challenges in getting my husband to buy into the paleo grain free dairy free lifestyle (even though he has issues with dairy) is getting him to give up some of his treats. I bought this book to see if I could create some of these recipies and convince him its not so bad.I love the spunky coconut website/blog and have followed Kelly for a couple months and love all her amazing recipies and blogs. I have another cookbook of hers, but this one is by far my favorite. What sets this cookbook apart is the amazing photography and I can't tell you how much I appreciate that there is a picture of EVERY recipie which makes me want to make it (and also when I do make them and they look a certain way the pictures help me levelset expectations). I did have to stock my pantry with some of these new things, but that was happening anyway this cookbook just helped me do it! I love that the beginning of the book is dedicated to the explanation of the main ingredients used in dairy free ice cream and desserts and Kelly tells you what to expect in differences in the results of the recipe based on what you use. This book contains not only dairy free ice cream, but recipies for toppings, sorbet, desert shells and cookies that compliment the ice cream. There are even recipies for paleo popsicles! All the recipies are well written to easily construct and again, the pictures really set this cookbook apart from other paleo and grain free cookbooks I have purchased. I particularily love that she has pages in the back with her favorite websites and resources to go to for the tools, ingredients, and literature on the healthy benefits of using these types of ingriedents. Kelly's passion pours out of this book and I applaud her attention to detail on not only her recipies and photography but her technical writing on the "how tos".So far I have made the vanilla and chocolate recipies. It really helps to use the tools she suggests in detail in the book and there is a section on her website with direct links to some of them (such as the ice cream maker) that will go directly to amazon for you to purchase them with a click of a button. The chocolate ice cream recipie is absolutely amazing and you wouldn't even know it was dairy free. This book is truly inspiring to those that want to transition to a healthier lifestyle and not give up the sweets. I can't wait to make coconut cream to top my ice cream with! And the blueberry lavendar ice cream is totally calling to me.This book is worth the money for the pictures alone, but for those looking for healthy alternatives, I don't think this book can be beat.

Do it! Buy this book!
I wanted to wait to review this book until I'd made several recipes. Suffice it to say, I'm well past "several." Off the top of my head, we've had Chocolate, Rocky Road, Fried Banana, Mint Chocolate Swirl (my son thought I said Mint Chocolate SQUIRREL and boy was he relieved when he saw what it really was), Butter Pecan, Swiss Almond, Strawberry, and I have some Salted Caramel Chocolate Chunk ready to freeze later today.I stopped eating dairy several years ago after a Whole30 taught me that my gut doesn't like it. We recently discovered that our four-year-old daughter has a dairy allergy but dearly loved milk products, so this book seemed like a natural purchase for us for this hot Texas summer.I've tried numerous "Paleo" or coconut-milk-based ice creams from other websites and sources. The ice creams I have tried from this book are hands-down the BEST. My husband, who used to sit in his chair with a half-gallon of commercial dairy ice cream and a spoon, even loves what I've made from this book. The ice creams are creamy and satisfying without any overwhelming honey or coconut flavors that I've found in other recipes, and little to no graininess. I love that the ice creams I've made are date-sweetened, and I think the combination of coconut and almond milks is smart! These ice creams are, for the most part, simple to make. I can whip up some vanilla ice cream base in seriously under five minutes. I doubt I'll be butchering my own young coconuts to make coconut cream any time soon, but even the ice creams with several steps, like Rocky Road for which I had to make my own marshmallow fluff, have easy-to-follow directions.I'm so happy I went ahead and bought this book so we could enjoy it all summer, and my dairy-loving but intolerant family are thrilled too. I look forward to diving into MORE books by Kelly!!

Tantalizing recipes and scrumptious photos
I will admit I've only made a couple of recipes so far, but they have been totally tasty! I love the fact that they are dairy free, since I am finding as I get older, dairy products just don'seem to agree with me anymore. The best part is with these recipes I don't have to sacrifice flavor or texture! They are just as yummy and rich as their dairy counterparts. If you need to steer clear of dairy this book may be perfect for you.

Worth every penny!
Ok so I have been transitioning our family from a Feingold (all natural diet) to a more Paleo diet program which excludes dairy, grains, legumes and potatoes ( similar to a casein and gluten free diet advocated for autism spectrum disorders). I came upon Kelly's Spunky Coconut blog and LOVED every recipe I have tried. I bought this book so I could start making dairy free desserts. So far the chocolate ice cream was a hit--kind of like an old fashioned fudgesicle. The vanilla was good too probably even better with her Caramel sauce. Hubby described it as rich probably like what our grandparents were used to in ice cream. Now I have the bing cherry recipe in the maker since cherries were on sale at the store. I tasted the base before putting it in and didn't want to wait to freeze it, it was that good. I love how easy and nutritious her recipes are. Good stuff this one is. So glad I bought it.

Best dairy free ice cream I have ever had!
I recently found out that I can't have dairy, gluten, egg, or soy. My favorite dairy free ice cream I had before had egg yoke in it, which was not going to work. My husband pre-ordered this book for my birthday a month ago and I have been waiting- so excited to try to make ice cream I can eat. I made the mint ganache ice cream the first night I got the book in and was ecstatic- even facetimed my sister so she could see how creamy it was. :) This is by far the best paleo ice cream book and I am excited to try all the recipes. My husband who only loves regular ice cream was even impressed and liked this ice cream. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would!

Tolle Rezepte!!

Excellent!
What a treat this cookbook is in every sense of the word! Filled with delicious recipes and gorgeous photos of all the recipes included plus many helpful tips to help with creating them. Cannot wait to make the Butter Pecan, a personal favourite that I have had to go without since having to eliminate dairy from my diet. The Swiss Almond looks fab as well as the Salted Caramel Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream. There are also recipes for frozen yoghurt made with coconut and cashew milk, sherbets and pops. She covers all the bases for dairy-free treats and just in time for summer! I highly recommend it!

A mi personalmente me ha gustado. Habla in Poco de la historia del helado y despues de los primeros helados veganos. Describe los Ingredientes necesarios para que quede un helado cremoso. En general recommendable.
