Dryopteris erythrosora - Japanese Shield Fern Plant in 9 cm Pot

Allthough very healthy on arrival , this plant was so much smaller I expected for what I paid, especially when two weeks later popped up to my local garden centre and paid £12 for one with an 60cm diameter and full off fern leaves in two tone colouring with plenty off bronze colour .

I bought this plant because of the unusual colour, however what arrived is just an ordinary green fern which I could have bought locally for a quarter of what it cost me. Very very disappointed.

Absolute rubbish. This plant arrived scrunched up with broken stems, lots of dead leaves, absolutely tiny and with no red on the plant at all. I literally mistook it for a scabby plant I must have somehow ordered by mistake.Maybe it'll survive...we shall see.The packaging was awful too - with lots of non-biodegradable stuffing to cushion the plant (which it either didn't do effectively anyway, or the plant was damaged before packaged).This was such a shame as I've bought lovely plants from this supplier before.

Supplied in a 9cm pot. As others have said its green, however I know with this plant the leafs start off this colour and change as it matures. Lots of new growth on it and it going to look amazing next to my other ferns. Yes bit more expensive then if you was to go to a garden centre, however this is a more unusual fern and you are paying for packaging, delivery etc... For those who have those big wild ferns you find in a forest in England , this one is definitely more delicate and fragile but amazing.

On arrival the plant was intact despite no extra packaging than the box and brown paper with mostly green laves. The plant itself seemed good quality and sturdy. I can already see the leaves are getting a more rustic shade and confident in time it will resemble the advertising picture. Since planting out in October the fern has doubled in size., in all very happy with this purchase.

The fern was so small if it had been a lettuce it would not have made half a sandwich. To expensive for such a small plant. I may never by plants via you again

Why don't you actually put the photo of the product! The actual plant is much smaller than expected. I bet you have heard that before!

Received a very sturdy plant, I was surprised by the size and quality as it is worth 5* and all the praise I can rustle up. It measured easilly 2 foot tall ( I bought 3), I wanted to fill some empty ground under my trees after the blue bells have finished, these will be perfect, and could not be in better condition.
