Mukta Das Tabla Set, Concert Quality, 3.5 Kilograms Chromed Copper Bayan, Sheesham Dayan with Padded Bag, Book, Hammer, Cushions, Cover, Kolkata Tabla Drums (PDI-AEB)

I received a tabla set which doesnt look like a Mukta Das set, attaching a picture here. I'm not saying the quality is bad...its decent and is Kolkata type as well with paper-thin skin and bright sound, but dont match up to the Mukta Das set I have seen before.the skin on kinar, the outer, upper layer and the below layer has a big gap in between and kind of gets in the way of playing, especially for the dugga. not sure if its visible from the picture. the gatta/dowels are of cheap quality as well with the paint/varnish running all over the leather straps.

Just got these tablas today and I'm extremely pleased with them. I have been studying with Aloke Dutta for the last 5 years and this is my third set of tablas. Aloke personally suggested the Mukta Das brand to me and the fact that they're available on Amazon and I can have them mailed to my house in a matter of days is more than convenient. The sound quality is excellent on both the Dayan and the Bayan. My only complaint would be that I've been using a smaller Bayan for the last 2 years and this one was slightly taller and it's giving my shoulder some issues but other than that I couldn't be happier. The other review on here talks about the case negatively and I will admit that it is a soft case and not hard, but for this price I wouldn't expect much of a case since the tablas are of such quality. I highly suggest these tablas.
