Nice concept but there are more efficient ways to carry first aid equipment
I like the concept and depending on how you are carrying/storing this kit, a cylinder might work well. Still it is quite bulky for a first aid kit that has very few supplies in it. The compass and flash light caps are nice once you have the tube but you can find better and smaller of both that could fit into a much smaller kit.The pouch that holds the first aid supplies is made of very bulky material so very few supplies can be put in the tube. They do sell storage tins that fit into the tube which might be a more efficient way of storing the supplies but I don’t have the tins so it’s difficult to tell. The flashlight takes LR1 N sized batteries which are expensive, non-standard and I haven’t seen rechargeable versions of them. If you are on a trip and run out of these batteries it is unlikely you can just walk into a store along your trail and find them. I wouldn’t relay on this as your own flashlight. A separate flashlight would be better and cheaper especially since their flashlight cover is more expensive then their standard cover. If you build your own kit o the VSSL website I would avoid the flashlight cover.I won’t know until I use it over time but the construction seems good. The one concern is the threads don’t seem very well machined and over time there could be problems opening and closing the kit. While I like the tube storage concept there are better and less expensive options for first aid and camping kits.

Niche Product, Great Company!
I've wanted some VSSL gear since I first saw them a year or so ago. I've ordered some products directly from VSSL, but when this showed up on Amazon with a big Black Friday discount, I had to get it. It's a great little container with an excellent compass and light. It's now clamped to the roll bar of my Jeep. The first aid kit itself is fairly basic, and obviously can't hold a ton of gear, but it's enough to hold some essentials. I ended up swapping out some of the contents with other first aid gear. It's really easy to personalize. I've seen other reviews complain about the price, and I'll admit, their gear isn't cheap, but it's all very well thought out and well put together, and if that sort of thing matters to you, it's absolutely worth it.The only issue I had was that for some reason, the batteries (which are a special type -- not hard to find, but probably not one that most people have on hand) were missing from the package when I received it. I sent the seller a message, which they responded to immediately, and they sent me not only the missing batteries, but also an extra set. That's great service!

It is niche equipment
1st thing to understand is it's a booboo kit. So yes it is a little expensive. You need a reason to buy it. It is simple and easy to use. Well organized. Sturdy. I bought it so other people have little to no reason to reach into my trauma kit on the jeep or on the kayak. It is easy to strap in a visible location. Obvious what it's purpose is. No need for a whistle in a 1st aid kit so tossed. Added 3 packs of Celox, 2 ea single use packs of aspirin, Tylenol, and aleave. 1 roll gauze. 12 waterproof bandaids. All the extra fit just fine, roll the organizer tight before putting in tube.I am planning to get more for my buddies so obvious I wound buy again. I also have the camping tube which has had some minor changes made to it. Amazon does not sell replacement or customizing accessories you will need to go to the company web site.

bought as gifts
i bought these as xmas gifts. They are amazingly compact for the volume of supplies. It is not just a collection of band aids. I gave them to one person in heavy construction to carry in his car, and another to someone who hikes and bikes in remote areas. I bought myself one because I camp in remote areas. The flashlight was a deciding factor in the model I chose.

Form & function merge beautifully in this sleek kit
Super compact & ready to roll. This is 100% perfect for anyone who puts a premium on space but also wants to have a lil bit of everything available just in case. This is a thing of beauty- the contents will cover about 95% of “what-if” scenarios. I believe that I could shove my hand into my pack in the dark & find this in about 5seconds. This was a great buy!

Great kit with the essentials
Bought two kits one for each car and to take along with us on hikes. Has all the essentials for survival if something were to happen. Container is a little heavy to include on loner backpacking hikes, but the comfort of having the supplies in an emergency makes the little extra weight of no concern.
