I should have got one sooner
This was my first framing nailer. I've done everything by hand for years. I don't frame things professionally but I think this would be great for that. I had 3 jams in 2 boxes of 2000 nails each but they cleared pretty easily.

Great buy
Great value. Fast delivery. Best gun I’ve ever used

Overall this is my preferred framer.
The gun switches from single shot to tap-and-go easily. I like to single shot when I toe-nail.

Great nailer, bad hook.
Full disclosure, I purchased this nailer from Menards instead of Amazon. I have way tok many nailers, and I have the cheaper model which I love. This nailer is a bit bulkier and heavier but you definitely feel the difference in build quality versus their cheaper model. I understand some folks have an issue with the trigger mechanism but I really don't see anything wrong with it. I immediately removed the metal piece that holds it in single fire mode, and you can switch back but as a carpenter, I rarely need to use single fire. When I do however need to use single fire mode, I press the nose in first and then I pull the trigger. Finally, the only complaint I have is the rafter hook. It works fine but the mere fact that you can't move it out of the way gets rather cumbersome. I purchased an after market hook but I still cannot replace it thanks to the bold that hold the magazine on to the handle is seized on there to the point that I stripped the head and nothing can get it off is a major inconvenience.

Don't care for the trigger and the useless and in the way hook
This new trigger setup is awful in single fire mode. I have to completely remove my finger from the trigger before I depress the actuator to fire a nail. If I touch the trigger even in the slightest before the actuator is fully depressed it fails to fire and I have to reset the trigger and try again. My nr83a3 isn't like that. It works fine even if you rest your finger on trigger while you're nailing. Granted, if you switch to bump fire mode, it eliminates the problem, but there are times when I prefer not to have it set to bump fire. My only other problem is the hook they supply with it. You'd think they would have come up with a hook design that isn't just bulky and in the way by now, but they most certainly have not.

Great gun same quality as hitachi
Great nail gun really durable and dependable gun. I’m a framer and shoot this gun hundreds of times a day and it never jams, works in the cold winter weather. One thing I don’t like is it’s a little hard to grip with you’re left hand because of the way the nail strip holder is connected on the left side of the gun, now it’s not a deal breaker I’m left handed and use it with my left hand all day it’s just not as comfortable as it is in my right hand

I got this air gun because i could not nail through the LSL on the job. This gun has the power and the nail go in so smooth. Love it.
