Lightweight, portable seat that baby will quickly outgrow
I wasn't sure if I should purchase this lounger seeing as I already owned the original Boppy pillow. I also wasn't inclined to spend money on yet another piece of baby gear that my baby wouldn't like. Buuut with a 3 year old toddler, I find myself constantly needing a place to put down baby. The Boppy lounger meets our needs for the most part. It's very lightweight which makes it a breeze to carry around the house, even while simultaneously carrying my baby. It's cushiony and comfortable, shaped perfectly to cocoon his little body. And it comes in a lot of fun designs if that's something you care about. I typically keep mine downstairs in my 2 story house and carry it between the kitchen, dining room, and the master bedroom. There are a few cons though. The cover is not removable like the original boppy, which means cleaning it can be a pain if you're a tidy, clean freak like myself. That means spit up, poop blow outs, etc need to be cleaned immediately (with a baby safe product) or avoided altogether by putting a burp cloth or swaddle blanket over it. I'm not partial to this solution, however, as I don't like covering the pillow with unnecessary blankets (it's ugly and potentially poses risk to baby). The pillow is also really small. My son just turned 2 months old and is already nearly too big for it. His legs extend to the end of the pillow (he's 24 inches long) and seeing as I have hard floors, this isn't a great combination as baby loves to kick his legs.Nonetheless, this is a convenient spot to place my baby when I'm in a rush to attend to something else. Baby doesn't like sitting in it for more than a few minutes because it can be boring, but a few minutes is usually all I need.Overall this is a good baby product, but not necessarily a *must buy* for newborns unless you need multiple places to rest your baby and don't own a bouncer. You're only going to get a couplw months use out of this so keep that in mind before purchasing.

Came dirty
So I think this was used. It came with all of its packaging and was packed neatly inside its Boppy bag, but when I unzipped the bag there was dirt/dust all over the pillow, and a foot print, and a small orange stain. We washed it twice and now my little is enjoying it. No big deal. But when you pay that much for a single pillow, you kind of expect it to be new/clean.

Great lounger. My 3 month old grandsons favorite!
My grandson loved this! When he was newborn to a couple of months old, I used it as a pillow to prop my arm and elbows when he fell asleep in my arms. Silly to say but this 8 pound baby gave me sore arms and shoulders after holding him for several hours even sitting down. If I placed the thicker part next to me on the sofa it gave me just enough support to take the ache away and I could hold him as long as I wanted comfortably. As he got older he loved laying in it. The angle was perfect, just enough to support his head in a semi-recline. He didn't like laying down flat for very long, I think it gave him tummy troubles after eating, so this lounger was perfect.Don't ever leave your baby unattended. My grandson fell asleep in it so I sat next to him and watched him nap for two hours. I wouldn't leave him for a second.

cute but questioned its safety
The quality was great and it was super cute. However, I returned it as I was nervous having a newborn on such a cushioned surface. Many articles state that children should only be on flat surfaces. Although it probably would have been fine, there were areas where the baby could sink far into.**Please help and select if this review was helpful!

Good concept
I like the concept of this pillow although I wish it propped them up a little more. My son loved it but he grew out of it really quick, he was a big baby though (8lbs). And now he’s 15lbs and although he still fits his legs are too long (he’s 24in). We liked it while it lasted though! I also waited and didn’t get it till he was a month old, I think I would’ve used it a lot more if I would have had it sooner!

Great for babies who don't move much
I've bought this product twice in 2 years (I have a 16month and 4month old). It was perfect for my first child who absolutely loved to lay in it. She used it until she outgrew it and flattened it out. My second child was born on the heavier side, almost 9lbs and I was only able to use for a couple of months or less because he kicked/pressed his legs down so much that I would find him out of it. It helped my first one sleep because she hated to be laid flat (even though it is not recommended for extended sleep). It is definitely not recommended once baby is able to roll.

Worth it!
Love this thing. One week old loves it also. Seems to support his back better than anything else (bouncy chair, swing, etc.) you would put an infant in. He always looks so cozy in it and will sleep multiple hours. It also keeps him on a slight incline so it seems to help with spit up and acid reflux. We use this mainly in or living room when we are seated next to him. This is NOT and item you would want your infant to sleep in over night. Also easy to wash and dry.

Hug it before you buy it!
My baby loves it. She is able to sit in a comfortable position without being in my arms. I had gotten just the regular boppy and realized I needed this too. My complaint with this thing is a manufacturing defect. There is a stick of some sort inside. It is about a foot long. Since there is no zipper, I’d have to tear a seam apart to find out what it is. I don’t want to do that but it looks like I’m going to have to. If my baby sits on one side, it would get poked.UPDATE: I contacted Boppy concerning the plastic stick found inside my product. They were very proactive and are sending me a new one. I’m sure it is a fluke, but felt better knowing they are taking it seriously. I’m just glad I felt it before the baby did.

One of the best purchases we made as new parents
If you are on the fence about this product, let me tell you it is worth buying because it made the difference between sanity and insanity during the first few weeks of our baby's life. We were struggling to get into a rhythm and simply didn't have a convenient place to put a newborn down (swings and bouncers were still too big for DS at that point). This cushion has just the right amount of incline to help prevent reflux or vomiting in those early days but also allows the neck to relax and extend now that DS is a bit bigger and doesn't want to be all scrunched up. We are in month 3 here and we use this very regularly. My only complaint about the Boppy lounger is washing capabilities, but that's not just an issue with this cushion (my nursing pillow can't be laundered either).

Glorious freedom
As the father of a newborn I was shocked to discover how rare and wonderful it is to have the opportunity to put down your baby, even for a moment. This pillow is fantastic. The baby is comfortable and happy on it and it allows mom and dad to give their arms a bit of a break while still keeping a close watch on the little one. I would whole-heartedly recommend it to any new parent!!

Great as a gift, but also great as a staple item
We originally bought this as a gift and after seeing it we're convinced that we need one too. From a gifting perspective, it's nicely packaged and has a nice size and plump to it. It is a tad expensive given what it is, which prevents it from getting 5 stars, but it does what it says and does it well. The touch and feel is smooth, and it's nice and full so it provides a lot of cushioning. It's one of those things that may not be considered a necessity, but once you have it you then realize how often it'll be used - all those times you just need to put the little one down for a moment or longer, comfortably and at an incline.

Very Soft and Snugly
Our baby liked it very much, he's comfortable and snuggled.I can do other stuff when I put him in the lounger because he's safer in it.It's also easy to move him around in the lounger. It was a bit small for our 2 month old baby and only worked for one month but overall we liked the product.

Essentiel 0-5 mois
