It's been a long time since I've felt compelled enough to actually write a review on a book but this book justifies one. Those of us who love BBQ know that it's not just about the food; it's also about the stories, friendship, community, and slowing down our lives for a short while to enjoy just being (and maybe with a cold beer or whiskey in hand).This book embodies not only the culture and community of BBQ, but also a straightforward approach to some amazing recipes that will make you hungry and beg for springtime to come to break out that backyard or city balcony smoker. It doesn't read as a cookbook but rather, fittingly, like a conversation with a friend about food, drink, family, friends, and a passion for our favorite pastime."Barbecue is the friendliest food" for sure. Well done.

This book has it all! Whether you enjoy BBQing at home or just love to cook, there's something in here for you. Recipes range from quick and easy snacks/drinks to more elevated options perfect for entertaining. There are a ton of helpful tips and tricks, especially the pages full of photos demonstrating how to properly trim meats. The recipes are thorough and although some are a bit more complicated/involved than others, they still feel extremely approachable. The photos are gorgeous and I can't wait to dive in and start making some of these recipes! As another reviewer said, this book reads like a conversation and feels like you're planning a party with the help of your friends. This is much more than a BBQ book and I'm already planning on gifting copies to my friends and family. Congratulations on another great book, Andy!

This cookbook has inspired me to jumpstart my party hosting and cooking for 2020! Recipes and ideas for Taco Tuesday, cocktail parties, weekend brunch and tailgating are just a handful of party topics in this well-organized and gorgeous book. I am delighted that some of the Smoke Shop's restaurant's delicious dishes such as pit beans, coleslaw, famous wings and butter cake can be found in Backyard BBQ. When invited to summer gatherings I tend to struggle with what to bring, this cookbook has a great selection of apps, sides and desserts that will work for any celebration. Thanks Chef Andy and Will!

The only reason why I did a 4 and not a 5 star was because the pages of the book weren’t straight and the book wasn’t able to close right. BUT. Everything else was amazing. Nothing was messed up and it looked so nice

A tour through the best Backyard BBQ you have ever been invited too. Easy to follow S&P ribs through more adventurous Pork Belly Pastrami all explained through descriptive pictures and precious instructions. Need a cocktail? You are covered! Need the perfect side that feels passed down from generations before you? Chef Will added them in for you with a few modern twists here & there. Doesn't matter if you are grilling, smoking, baking or frying for your guests, these recipes will certainly impress the masses!

‘Party like a pitmaster’ really sums it up! I have WAY too many BBQ books, but this is going to be one of my favorites. Huge variety of recipes and themes. Can’t wait to dig in and start using some of these recipes.

Great book! Very accessible with beautiful pictures and easy to follow recipes. I have been a longtime fan of Smoke Shop and Andy’s barbecue. This book has a great mix of classic barbecue mixed in with inventive appetizers, funky sides and boozy cocktails. The butter cake is just crazy delicious. It was a special request by my son for his 17th birthday and the book arrived just in time!

What a great book full of delicious meals, snacks and bevies, and heaps of helpful tips on basting and BBQing. Hubby will a LOVE this for Christmas
