Works well
What can be said about MG Chemicals solderwick, versus the generic competitors? Hmmm. Having purchased countless rolls of this over the years from MG Chemicals, I would have to say their product seems to work best in my experience. Seems to have a good shelf life (one doesn't consume vast quantities of this stuff), doesn't seem to oxidize badly when sitting unused for a while, and is quite effective at its intended purpose. As said above, have been using their product for years, and always purchase the same brand each time. This is a simple product, and they've given me no reason to search for alternatives. It Just Works.

Saved my MSOP-16 package
I was working for FOUR days trying to remove a solder bridge on an MSOP-16 package. 0.32mm wide pins on a 0.5mm pitch. The bridge was deep in the pins, almost at the IC body. I tried every method ever published. Finally I bought this wick. I used a fine tip on my iron plus a good amount of flux, and was able to wedge the frayed end of this wick into and around the space of the bridge. BINGO. My PCB and IC was saved.I really like almost all of MG Chemical's products also, by the way. 5 stars to this one.

Solder Sucks in Well
Solder flows into the braid very well. Better than what I have used on other brands.

Spendy but works great
It works vary well for small SMD stuff, the flux used in it is good quality.Just make sure its good for what you need it for.It is spendy but you get what you pay for with solder wick, if you need a lot find a way to buy in bulk.

... bee using flux-free wick and this is so much better! Just sucks that solder up
I had bee using flux-free wick and this is so much better! Just sucks that solder up, extracting it from the PCB holes and from around the pin. I did't even realize this was available, being a casual hobbyist.
