The Holster™ 9 Pistol Hand Gun Rack

I'm giving this 4 stars because it is not compatible with all safes so caveat emptor. Allow me to elaborate. The way this is designed to install, on the top of the door, it interferes with the shelf and any long guns that you have resting on the outside of the center gun rest (for divided safe). My shelf was installed just high enough to allow me to store "most" of my long guns. When I laid the pistol rack on the door and closed it I realized that this was not going to work with pistols in it, they would hit the shelf. It was going back. I thought of other ways to mount it and none seemed as if they would work. I ended up cutting the angle off, leaving a flat bracket, drilling a hole in the bracket and mounting it lower on the door. This worked like a charm. It is not hanging below the shelf but it now occupies the center gun rest's outer most position but I gained much shelf space. So though i had to modify it I am making it fit. If you do not have a shelf then this would work right out of the box.

Well made. I had a problem after installation, my Winchester safe would not lock! The door was fully closed and the bolts were set and inserted, the bolts would move in and out with turns of the spindles, but the lock would not catch! I removed the holster bracket and installed it in an other location, same result. I mounted the rack on the inside safe door and everything worked as advised. Nice product, but did not work as required on my safe.

I recovered the whole top shelf in my safe by installing this unit. I also added the add-on 12 pistol rack.The mounting tabs were too deep for my safe door (Zanotti Armor Z-II). I had to cut a half inch off the tabs and drill new holes. A little bit of a pain, but it went quickly. I guess I could have added a strip of wood as a spacer against the safe door, but then it would intrude further into the safe interior.A couple of the openings look to be intentionally sized larger than others to allow for wider pistols like revolvers. I have 44 magnum revolvers that fit fine in these. Autos seem to fit a little more solidly because of the way they contact the rack; my revolvers rotate a bit, but not so much as to concern me.The vinyl coating doesn't appear to be terribly durable. The frontstrap checkering and G-10 grips on one of my pistols and the sights on a revolver have already roughed it up enough that there are little bits hanging. Only time will tell how it will hold up. If it continues to wear, I might wrap the trouble areas with some small split vinyl tubing or electrical tape.My original intention was to use the Rack Em add-on rack directly because it comes with a bunch of different mounting hardware, but I ended up buying this base pistol Rack Em unit to hang it from. They do not need to be the same size - I can hang the 12 gun rack from the 9 gun base unit. If you can find a way to attach the add-on unit to your safe directly, you save money over buying this base pistol unit. Getting a solution that doesn't allow the rack to sway when you swing the door could complicate things - that's why I bought this base pistol unit too.

Finally got around to mounting this. Screws self tapped into the door in my Cannon safe. Had to rearrange shelves a bit lower so the barrels of the guns cleared. By putting the hand guns on the door I was able to store the long guns the way they should be.01/09/2015. Still working fine. My problem now is the rack is full. Now what do I do? :-)

Bought this for my husband for Christmas. Well made and is perfect for his array of pistols.

Not a bad product, my only complaint is that the pistols don't quite fit properly. Like many folks my guns have been passed down in the family from my Great Grandfather and now to me and I want to protect them. I would like to see a holder where you can adjust it to fit different types of pistols.

My Gun vault's door was not thick enough to hold my rack!
