The Adventure Zone: Petals to the Metal (The Adventure Zone, 3)

This series is so so good, been listening to the podcast again and its so fun and funny. The graphic novels bring it to short form which is really nice to get the whole adventure quickly and beautifully drawn.

PTTM, in my opinion, is really when Griffin realizes where he wants to go with the whole campaign. It really begins to come together. The artistry is amazing, and Carey continues to knock it out of the park with her illustrations.The dialogue- perfect, hilarious, and as always (especially when you’ve listened to the entire campaign) a little heart wrenching.I wouldn’t say PTTM is my fave, but I still absolutely LOVE it.Bravo to the McElBoys and Carey for being an amazing team and bringing this to paper!!

As a fan of the Adventure Zone Podcast, I was excited to see this story put into comic form. The artists and writers have really gotten into the vibe and feeling that is so prevalent in the podcast, while still letting the visual medium shine.If you have not listened to the podcast, or don't have time to, as it is long, this is a fantastic way to experience the silly and amazing adventures that the McElroy's go through, in a much more compact medium. I HIGHLY recommend this series.

Huge fan of the podcast. Listening to this group play gave me so much joy. And now to see it in full color and beautifully illustrated makes it so much more fun. I already own the other 2 volumes and can't wait to have the entire collection as they come out. If your a fan of the show and don't already have this you should own it.

Another stunning addition to the TAZ:B series; I am continually blown away by the story telling and artistry of these amazing books. The pacing hits that perfect sweet spot between serious and stupid funny, the composition and detail of the art is genuinely breathtaking, and it really feels like home to me when I read it and remember all my favorite characters and parts from the podcast. Really incredibly masterful job, I loved it <3

What an incredible graphic novel! Carey Pietsch's art is iconic in capturing this beloved tale and adding AMAZING bonuses for lovers of the podcast. I cannot stress enough this isn't just a re-hash of the TAZ Balance podcast, this is a work of art in its own right, and the ART itself is just stunning. I physically can't wait for the next installment of this wonderful series!

A hilarious fantasy romp

Fans of the podcast The Adventure Zone know that it's hard to describe what it is exactly that makes the show work so well. You wouldn't think a freewheeling family gaming session would make for hilarious, exciting listening. So taking the concept one step further and committing it to book form seems like it shouldn't work, but it absolutely does. Bonus points for the legally distinct likeness of the Deals Warlock!

The comics is amazing and that i already knew but it arrived with the cover covered in greasy fingerprints and the back with what seems to be food stain??? i cleaned it and everything is ok now but that really seems very unhygienic, especially in a time when attention to health and safety should be at its highest???i have yet to read it properly and I hope it doesn't have any other stains inside or im returning it asap

Because of some issues on my end, I didn't get the book on the 14th. I got it this afternoon and just finished reading it.Absolutely gorgeous. Did a really good job condensing the original material without losing anything, with plenty of references for people who have listened to the podcast without expecting anyone to have listened to it. There's good foreshadowing for what is to come. Illustrations are absolutely amazing, and flow really well. The visuals match the story in a really good way.

I really loved this graphic novel comic, The Adventure Zone is my favorite RPG-style story and the artist brings that world alive beautifully with her art. Its really worth it <3Even if Petals to the Metal wasnt my favorite arc originally, this comic made it amazing, enticing and eletrifying! Cant wait for the next!!!

Well paced, a lot of fun and still very emotional. Couldn't stop reading from start to finish.

The Adventure Zone: Petals to the Metal is the latest and greatest instalment in the graphic novel adaptation of the superb podcast The Adventure Zone. Our heroes Merle, Taako and Magnus are thrust into the cutthroat world of battlewagon racing in order to retrieve another mysterious artifact. There's action, comedy, love and even an inspiring speech that gave me goosebumps.Podcast fans willbe delighted to see some of their favourite characters for the first time includingCaptain Captain Bane and Garyl the spectral binicorn and once again Carey Pietsch does an amazing job bringing these characters to life. The artwork is superb throughout and well worth the price of admission on its own.The whole thing is fantastic but the Hurley and Sloane arc was presented better here than even in the podcast and really made the heart of everything TAZ shine through.Bonus points for again including a section at the back of the book to showcase some of the amazing fan art developed by the TAZ community. There really are some wickedly talented folks out there.
