So Far, Pretty Good
The media could not be loaded. These are first impressions after initial use. I may update after continued use.The press is stainless steel, so it won't leach any coatings into food and is in theory dishwasher safe. It has fewer working parts than America's Test Kitchen's favorite, the Kuhn Rikon, which exploded on me after only a few uses. This one seems more robust.I like the square holes. They are easy to clean out with a fork tine or toothpick. I expect I'll lose the included brush rather quickly. The piece size is uniform and comparable to what I get when I chop garlic. The pieces cook evenly. There is not as much juice lost as with some other presses. It seemed to work pretty well with both peeled and unpeeled cloves. There was less garlic squishing out of the sides than with the Kuhn Rikon. Peeling the cloves reduced the side squeeze-out.I don't usually trust presses with ginger, but I tried a piece of peeled ginger with this one, and though it juiced the pieces before pressing the flesh through, I was surprised at how well it did.One thing that may become an issue is that the plate was slightly deformed in whatever process was used to create it (stamping?) , so it scratches the plunger.

Great product and a huge time saver.
I love to cook with garlic and ginger, and this saves so much time when I have to mince it. I did notice that it was easier to clean the garlic when I didn't peel it all. So to make life easier, I just would peel the side that was going through the mincing part, and than it was way easier to clean and faster. I highly recommend hope this helps.

simplifies chopped garlic, not good for paste
Its mostly been said: this is a well designed, very sturdy stainless steel garlic press that works well and should last a long time.I will say that the garlic pieces that pass through the press are very large compared to the previous model I had. This is fine -even preferable- for many recipes that call for a saute of chopped garlic. When you get tiny pieces like from my earlier press, the garlic can cook too quickly and burn very easily. However, we really like to make sauces/marinades from fresh garlic, and I think those benefit from the tiny pieces, almost paste-like consistency that comes out the end. The paste-like output is especially good when making a Caprese salad, where you pour olive oil and garlic/herbs over fresh tomatoes & mozzarella. Just made a Caprese salad using garlic I pressed with this press and it was far too chunky. But there is a partial solution for when you want a finer consistency: just slowly press the garlic, and use a sharp knife to shave the pieces coming through the metal strainer. This pretty much does the trick to getting a finer output that doesnt seem too chunky for use is a dipping sauce or similar. For the low price, you could buy a different one for a paste output as well.

Super-efficient!
I've had this for about six months now and I still can't get over how EFFICIENT it is. You know how most garlic presses-- in my experience-- you squeeze it once, there's still a lot of garlic left in the thing, so you move it around and squeeze again, and there's still a bit left but it's usually mushed up enough to dump into whatever you're making? This one I keep squeezing once-- even multiple cloves-- and opening up intending to move the leftovers around for another go, but there AREN'T any leftovers! It honestly stuns me a little every time, so I thought I'd come comment on it in a review. The only downside is it doesn't have those little self-cleaning spokes the other sorts of garlic presses have, which you could argue it doesn't need since there IS so little left over in the press when you're done, but the very small trace of garlic left over IS harder to clean out that way. I can't yet comment on its sturdiness-- which was the main feature I was looking for since I've broken my past two garlic presses-- but it is good after six months at least, and I thnk the efficiency of the press helps with that-- you're not squeezing too hard trying to get the garlic out, it just goes OUT. So, just thought I'd come back and note that.

You will waste the garlic
Stick with chopping your self or buying minced. Unless you don’t mind wasting fresh garlic. Using your fingers to wipe garlic hanging off seems like defeating the purpose of having this gadget

Must have for every cook!
Love love love this garlic press. It is much better than the one I used to use. Easy to get the leftover bits off and clean/wash. Since it is stainless steel, paint does not chip off, getting into your food. This has saved me time and hands smelling like garlic!!!

Does the job fairly well
This unit does a fairly good job. There is a loss of some garlic as it flows around the sides, etc. But, it is not that bad. The unit also takes a bit of work to clean effectively, but after cleaning most of the material off it, the unit can be put in the dishwasher and that works well. Overall, this seems to be a fairly good alternative to manually trying to slice and dice garlic with a knife. It is much faster and much safer.
