Size Name:25g Jasmine Dragon Pearls, also known as Jasmine Pearls, Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls or Mo Li Long Zhu Lu Cha, is a scented green tea grown from Fuding Da Bai Cultivar tea leaves in Fuding, Fujian. After processing, the leaves are kept in cold storage until late summer when they are transported via road to Hengxian, the home of Jasmine flowers in Guangxi province. Here, they are mixed with freshly picked jasmine flowers and left overnight to absorb the aroma. This process is repeated 7-10 times and then the scented tea leaves are carefully hand-rolled into pearls.

If legend is to be believed, this tea was invented when a young girl from Fuzhou sought the aid of a mystical dragon to heal her ill brother. The dragon soared into the air, where a small pearl grew on his chest, from which a drop of water fell sprouting a tea bush. The girl dried the tea leaves she picked off the tea bush next to jasmine flowers and hand-rolled the leaves into small pearl shape balls just like the pearl that appeared on the dragons chest. She used the leaves to brew a cup of tea which she used to heal her ill brother.

Brewing method: Infuse 1 heaped teaspoons of pearls (around 2g) in 70ºC water for around 2 minutes to produce a pale green liquor. The leaves can be re-steeped up to three times or until the flavour has been exhausted.
