Pochette Surprise

I first heard of him when I was in preparatory school (back in '93) and it stormed the radio stations with "Dur dur d'être bébé": everybody at the classroom had that tune in mind! I liked it but then I liked more the next single ("Alison"), so catchy and with more storyline than the previous... and that was it! We never got to hear the third single ("Les boules"), which would have been the rocket that launched Jordy's fame. The title of my review refers to the type of music, most of the tracks are in Dreamhouse style, which appeared as it is in '96-'97! So, that goes for the producers/arrangers of the album; Jordy is credited for the personality imprinted in the vocals (if "Les boules" was sung by a man in Jordy's style, it would sound like some songs by Serge Gainsbourg, and in "Jordy rave show" where you can hear him 'interact with the crowd'). The best "Dur dur d'être bébé", "Alison", "Les Boules" and "Jordy rave show"; the rest are 0K (leaving out the remixes) for a lounge-listening type of thing.

had it when i was younger on cassette tape and played it to death and just recently found his newer stuff which will be my next purchase cuz i cant get enough of this kids now young adults music hes in a word awesome

I first encountered this cd while living in Texas some years ago, and thought I would never find it again. Thanks to Amazon, I got it back!

The sound is not creative or original in the mode of a future Fatboy Slim or William Orbit, but it is very danceable and reasonably varied.Pochette Surprise begs party guests to break out 'n' boogie, charms listeners with the ramblings of a French kid, and raises eyebrows among child-welfare advocates.

Jordy was a musical hurricane sent from France back in the early 90s to show americans that, contrary to popular belief, a four year old french kid rapping about being a baby could dominate the charts and make an album that matters. Jordy was in rotation non stop on my Alpine in 93 with hits like Boules(losers). Some people never got it, in fact some of the girls I would take out on dates would question why I, a suave love machine, would listen to a four year old rap in french about things a baby deals with. The date usually ended right there because if a girl couldn't understand why a smooth 20 something guy would listen to a four year french kid, she was never going to understand me. Jordy was at a level far above normal human understanding. Was it a bit cocky to go by one name at age four? Yes, but this cd is bold enough to pull it off. The kid was well on his way to being the next Michael Buble until he got sucked in by the hollywood star machine. He's just not the same now and it's too bad because Jordy could be selling out stadium tours right now.

I remember hearing Jordy when he first came out. I thought it was a one hit wonder for sure and sadly it was. I never heard about Jordy again until a year ago I decided to look up his music and bought this album. I have to say i should have bought this album years ago! This little boy is amazing! I do hope he goes into DJ work because he's so talented! This album is fun and can put anyone in a good mood. It's cute and you should think about buying it if you have children. I let my 10 year old nephew listen to it and he loved it! Too bad Jordy didn't continue his career. He would have made it big!

Vu que les chansons n'existent pas en digital sur iTunes, j''ai acheté le CD pour les quelques chansons sympa. Le CD était en bon état car d'occasion.
