TERRY PRATCHETT'S THE COLOR OF MAGIC Inside a magical realm known as Discworld, a naive tourist (Astin) is on holiday until a terrible fire breaks out, forcing him to flee along with an incompetent wizard (Jason). Now, as the clueless pair set out on a magical journey across the disc, neither realizes that they are merely pawns in an elaborate board game being played by the Gods. After encountering a pair of barbarians, they take a trip to an inverted mountain housing dragons that only exist in imagination, survive a fall off the edge of the disc during a perilous visit to the country Krull, and attempt to beat the wizard's former classmate (Curry) to a collection of eight spells that could save Discworld from total destruction. HOGFATHER Hogfather is the magical, menacing, wicked, and witty family story unlike anything else you could ever imagine. From the imagination of best-selling author Terry Pratchett comes Hogfather. It's the holiday of Hogswatch, the night when kids anticipate presents from the beloved Hogfather. But someone wants the Hogfather out of the way. Now it's up to the most unlikely of heroes to get the holiday back on track.

Great Movies!
Both movies are kind of out there but great fun! Acting is good, stories are well written, they don't rely on exaggerated special effects or star power to keep them interesting. Getting both at one great price makes it an excellent deal!

2 Discworld Movies that are fun to watch
I started reading Discworld books recently, and was thrilled to see that some books were adapted into movies. I really enjoyed watching these!

Great quality and two great movies
Terry Pratchett does it again and again. Brilliant and original stories you can watch over and over.

Love them
I only wish they would have combined both parts into a single video, it's annoying having to play a Part 1 then a Part 2.

Well at least USA has a blu ray set out of these two. But it's Mill Creek quality :(
I only got it so others could play it on their players or online. I own the German Region B releases around 42 gb per disc Hogfather and The Colour of Magic, got them fairly cheap $8 plus $3 shipping (american dollars) but per movie which was worth it as they are dual layered , several extra's, trailers interviews and what not. And while VC-1, much higher bitrate. So those were Great VC-1 codec (outdated) versions. This is a low quality Mpeg4 video.. Same sound though. DTS Master Audio 2.0 on Hogfather and 5.1 on The Colour of Magic ahem Color. .... Zero extra's, no scene selection. Just part 1 , 2 and subtitles on or off. and a frozen background. For both discs. I was expecting Vudu/Movies Anywhere for Digital HD. Not so. It's MovieSPREE which is Mill Creek's version. Almost think the quality for video is better there. I have Roku to run it. But not on the tv apps. This review has nothing to do with the movies. They've been out for 12-14 yrs should know them by now. They are available with ADS on Vudu though. :( Quality there iffy. And why the older movie Hogfather gets second billing I don't know. Hogfather was Nov 13 2019 and The Color of Magic on the 14th so even there it makes no sense. Yeah Color of Magic is better for the Kids. Hogfather for young adults. And Michelle Dockery is beautiful in Hogfather with that hair (wig) :) and eyebrows and sword...

Two of the best Terry Pratchett stories
Color of Magic and Hogfather - both well done. Very good acting, and they follow the story pretty much as written. Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary of Downton Abby) in Hogfather is especially good.

Lots of fun
I love T3rry Prarchett's books and these little mini-series are great adaptations. Of course many bits are left out but they are still lots of fun and the main story follows the same lines at least for Colour of Magic. I still haven't read Hogfather but I enjoyed the movie/mini-series.
