Good Filters at Fair Price.
These are great replacement filters & are the ones I always purchase. My cats have been using the Drinkwell 360 Fountain for 7 years, which requires 2 different types of filters - this filter is the foam type that surrounds the pump to trap small debris (the second type of filter is for water filtration). When I first bought my fountain, I experimented with buying different replacement filters. At first, I bought the "Drinkwell" brand filters because that's the brand that made the fountain, but they're expensive. Then I tried some other less expensive options, but wasn't impressed until I tried these ones from Zanyzap. Good value, good quality. They do what they're supposed to do and they do it well.

Great value
Works and fits perfectly on my dog's petsafe water fountain. A lot cheaper than petsmart

Yes these work for the Petsafe ceramic pagoda
These pre-filters are a must have for my 2 dogs and 3 cats using the same Pagoda ceramic drinking fountain. I know the description says that these are for the stainless steel drinking fountain but they work great for my ceramic drinking fountain. I change them out every week. I wish there was a way to recycle them. I have tried cleaning the filters and reusing them, but then I found I was changing the entire water and cleaning the fountain far more often than when I simply changed the charcoal filter plus change the pre-filter. My pets are throwing up only rarely when they go hunting and eat something that is not tummy friendly. These pre-filters work to catch fur, hair, little flying nats, slime, food debris from their mouths, kitty litter and whatever else stiny they may have licked when cleaning themselves. If the bottom of the water looks cruddy, I change everything - the pre-filter and the charcoal filter to avoid upset tummies. I have tried cleaning the pre-filter with bleach which does work but after a while. the filter becomes a breeding ground for germs. I have some ideas to create a healthy ecosystem for the water fountain, but for now, I am using the pre-filters and charcoal filters and my pets are healthy. Most of the time, my pet store is out of stock for these filters. Two foam filters cost $6.99. Amazon has them for 12 pre-filters for $10.69. The pet store cost is about $3.49 per pre-filter plus shipping. Amazon cost is about 89 cents per pre-filter with free shipping using Prime. I get my full money's worth out of Prime. Since finding the charcoal filters and pre-filters on Amazon, I have been able to change the filters more frequently to get the microbial growth under control. Into my second month using the charcoal filter and these foam pre-filters, and ordering a Merrick diet using Amazon, my pet friends are not throwing up as often (not at all recently) and are much healthier. Yes, these work as advertised.

Decent, but can fall apart quickly.
Our cats have the Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain, which is great - the cats like it and we like it too. When it came time to order new filters, I was a bit disturbed at the price. I guess I had hoped that they would be cheaper because the fountain was so expensive, but, that's not the case. So I searched around and found these. The 12pk was great for me, as I clean the fountain very regularly and replace the filters probably more than needed. They arrived promptly and for the most part, they do work quite well. The only thing I've noticed is that the replacement pre-filters tend to break in half, and the Drinkwell brand never did that. When I found the broken filter, there were some filter floaties in the water. That definitely concerned me because I don't want the cats to accidentally consume some of the filter, but I tried another one of this brand to see if they would all be like this. The other one did break in half as well, but no floating pieces. I'd rather they not break at all, but if they do, thankfully they seem to mostly stay intact and not scatter about the water like foam confetti. I took a star off for durability, but I feel the price and my knowing what to expect in terms of quality and potential breakdown is enough to give it four stars. I may end up just saying 'eh' and going with Drinkwell brand filters, but this price is pretty great for two college students paying for everything on our own.

Better than the original pre-filters
Okay, so these pre-filters aren't technological marvels. They're just little shapes cut out of a very airy foam. But they're a major part of keeping my cats' Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain free of random gunk. They keep debris (like cat hair or litter particles) from clogging the pump, which prolongs the life of the pump. I don't like to run the fountain without a pre-filter.You could buy the 2-pack of these from Drinkwell, and each filter would cost around 2 bucks. Or you could buy this 12-pack, so each filter costs well under a dollar. Still undecided? The foam used for these filters is indistinguishable from the "originals" in consistency and texture, and they fit precisely around the fountain's pump. Unlike the Drinkwell brand pre-filters (which are an off-white foam), theese filters are a nice bright white color, so you can tell at a glance if the pre-filter needs replacing. You can't go wrong with these.Like most new foam/plastic products, the filters did have a bit of a smell when I first opened the bag. I let the bag sit open overnight and the smell dissipated. Still, just to be sure, I rinse each pre-filter thoroughly in cool water before using it. Yes, my cats are spoiled.I replace the pre-filter twice a month. But I also clean them with a natural dish soap & re-use them, so one 12-pack lasts me well over a year. Really want to drop your fountain operating costs? Combine these with a reusable main filter from Forever Filter (available on Amazon, refillable with pelletized activated charcoal), and the overall cost of running a drinking fountain for your pets is much more reasonable. Which leaves you more cash to purchase additional treats and toys for your canine or feline overlords. See how nicely that works out?
