Generic Replacement for Eureka Floor Brush with Metal Curved Swivel Elbow and Horsehair Bristles

So nice to find something that's NOT PLASTIC! These bristles are actually horse hair... much more durable than plastic bristles!

I've been trying for years to replace an old Electrolux brush that's always worked better than any others on all types of floors and lower pile rugs. The one I received is exactly like the one shown in the photo and described on the product page. It does have the metal 'neck' and that does fit snugly yet not too tightly over all the standard size vac wands I have that match the measurements stated. The shape, sizing and profile on this one looks the same as a couple older black, all plastic, synthetic bristle brushes I've always liked and used often that originally came with some old Dirt Devil can vacs. After many years, one of those that broke on the neck at the connection between head and neck. So the metal neck is an improvement over that weakness. The low profile makes it easy to vac under most furniture and the bristles on the synthetic style bristles aren't so long that they collapse on lower pile rugs and carpets, so I'm hoping this natural will be the same for that while being gentler on hardwood floors. If need be I'll try using some electric hair clippers to shave the longer bristles even with the shorter section to increase bristle stiffness and overall suction for use on rugs. I'm so happy to have found this and if it stays available at a good price may order a 2nd or 3rd too!

I have been looking for one like this for a very long time, similar to one that my Mom had decades ago for her electrolux canister vacuum. I don't care for the one that came with my new small portable canister, which is adjustable for carpet or bare floors, it scratches the hardwoods. I wanted one that had long enough bristles that it would not scratch the floor and had bristles thick enough to really clean the dust on the floors. The head is well made and the elbow is metal that will not break. The curved swivel elbow lets me get under tables, chairs, etc. Fits tightly enough on the pipe so it does not fall off. I fully expect this will last a long time.

I purchased this for my new Eureka vac. I have purchased several of these small, canister-type vacs, and Eureka is a good one--though this newest is not quite as good as the previous models. But the carpet/floor sweeper head on the new one didn't have much oomph, so I decided to try this generic head, and I love it. It is a bit softer than the head on the old model, but WAY better than the head on the new model. You can't go wrong--Just get it! (I probably would have waited another year or two with the old vac, had I known about this generic head!)

I was hesitant to try this because I usually prefer floor attachments with wheels, but after trying a couple of other attachments with my Mighty Mite I kept coming back to this and am so glad I finally bought it. This is a very solid little floor tool that is a great size for getting into and out of tight spaces. It stays on the wand much more securely than the attachment that came with it and doesn't constantly swivel out of position making it a pleasure to use. I wish they also made a slightly bigger attachment with wheels for low pile rugs and at first it doesn't feel like it gets the same suction power, but my floors feel nice and clean so it just feels a little diferent and I can use the original floor attachment on the rugs. I have recommended it to my friends who also have Mighty Mites and I think it will last a long time.

We love our Eureka Mighty Mite but the head with the two little red fuzzy lint remover bars and the squeegee type drag bar have been long gone despite the vacuum in all other ways being in excellent working condition - we looked for a replacement but for years there was nothing and we made do. This fits all floor brush is of course a ray of sunshine but I don't like how it works on the one rug we have (though I realize it is a "floor brush") - thats what was so great about the head that came with the Mighty Mite I bought in NYC in 2000 YES! our Eureka is 18 years old and still working fantastically. All in all I have to say seeing as we are very attached to our beloved vacuum the generic attachment is an improvement though we miss the old head still,

This review is a little complicated. But if read carefully, you can end up with what is in my opinion the best vacuum floor brush.My two vacuums are Eureka canisters of early to mid eighties vintage. The hose end of this brush is a male friction fit steel tube. The original floor brush was a female locking ball plastic tube. The brush WILL work on the hose but beside sticking out very far from the hand hold, it can no longer mount on the tool caddy of either. The good news is that the bore of this brush is identical to the original. With a little muscle, twisting and prying I was able to remove both tubes and their bushings, and put the old plastic tube with it's bushing in the new brush. I now have a maneuverable, super light, low profile floor brush with firm bristles that really sucks, in a good way. I had to take one star off for a poorly thought out connection and my work.

Purchased to replace an aging head (worn/loose neck swivel). Glad to have picked his one in particular. It's not as wide as others but I believe this actually help with suction. Also like the brush itself which is of correct lenght with a bit shorter front section to actually let the dust in instead for pushing it. We are using it mostly on hardwood floors and it work also good on sofa and carpet (cat hair). This look like an item that will last many years with its metallic neck and nicely firm swivel. Very pleased with this purchase.

Great brush for the price. Only complaint is that it does not glide smoothly acoss floors. The bristles seem to cause resistance on my hardwood flooring.
