If you're a hiker read this.
Based on the reviews thought why not. They arrived, lightweight and neat looking. Fit is ok, bit of a peculiar feel based on the textile used. Stretchy - yes. Climbing up big steps on Grindslow Clough was no probs in these. Pretty quick drying too if you're wearing them in the sun / wind. Drying? Yeah the claimed water resistance is a joke. Can only conclude Peak District / Snowdonia / Grampians rain is wetter and more tenacious than Chinese rain. There was no water resistance any more than there would be in a pair of cotton chinos.Improvements. Many have mentioned the hook / closure above the zip - it is pathetic, mine rotates freely. Belt loops, the front two loops are set too far apart. If you are at the leaner end of the size scale expect the belt to rise above the top of the trousers.VFM? Can't say that at the price they represent value for money. Sometimes you take a punt and these purchases work. In this case no. Case in point, I took them to the Lakes last week and it was pretty miserable weather. I chose to wear some old Craghopper Kiwi trousers instead of these all week.

Worn once, zips have broken
Nice trousers and ideal for hiking however i wore these once and the zips have broken. Side pocket zipped shut with phone in pocket and then unable to access it.

Happy enough
As I wear 36" jeans bought the ones marked 36, which are 3XL. The waist fit is good.Theres a rather sharp and cheap-feeling metal clasp instead of a button but it works ok and doesnt dig in.First impression is they are very light in weight. They arrive packed in a flat Amazon pack like a thin book, so good for travel where space is tight and including the belt, they weigh just under 400g.The material is warm to the touch and very smooth with minimum rustle and the cut allows very good movement at the knee with no binding or rubbing. The unlined ones felt a little thin on a fresh evening but paired with a base layer, they were fine and on warm sunny day they are very pleasant to wear. They feel windproof but havent tested them in the rain yet.Only issue for me is the length. I notice none of these trousers have an inside leg length given, just overall length. Am 5'10 but I normally have a short length of trousers at about 29 or 30, and these are about 2 inches too long. Its no problem when tucking into walking socks but they are a bit long otherwise. I'll keep them though and deal with it. Overall happy enough with them though.

Not as good as looked or made them sound
Sadly I'll be returning these. The shape is wrong for me (XXL - 34 waist 30 leg with chunky thighs). Didn't wear them so can't comment on their ability in the wind. They are really light & thin and pack small if that helps. Elasticated waist.

Good value for price
All ok, possibly a little short in the leg as I'm 34" waist and 33" inside leg, I'm 6' 1", nothing outrageous though and not noticeable with boots on. Only worn once so far on a gentle 4 miler, but no chaffing or other issues. Good value for the money, thumbs up.
