Little Love Letters

I don't even remember how I discovered this album back in the early/mid 90's -- I largely avoided country music back then, but I remember the catchiness of so many of these tracks (and the attitude behind the lyrics) really grabbed me at the time. I occasionally searched for the CD over the years as cassette decks in cars became more rare, but never succeeded in finding it. So I was thrilled to stumble on it the other day -- now it is all on my iPod and available any time I want it!

This is the best country rock recording I've ever heard.The first Carlene Carter album I ever owned was Musical Shapes. I thought nothing could be better than that in the world of country rock. I went and bought up most all her other recordings to see if she ever did anything else like that great "country punk" album from the 80's. This was the gold nugget of the lot (although all her stuff is enjoyable to me).Some recordings sound like projects that the musicians work hard at and are glad when they're over, and some recordings sound like everyone is having fun. This is the latter.If you are a Carlene Carter fan at all and you don't own this album, you should. If you own this and don't own Musical Shapes, then by all means get that one too. And, if you've heard of Carlene Carter and you're wondering which one of her discs to buy first, this is it!

This came clean and looking like new with no marring on the CD and plays perfect

Decades ago I'd been given a tape of this album. Getting a new car without a tape player required I get a newer media. I was so thrilled to find it still available in CD. I've always loved this album.

I love her music, but they sent me a cd that did not work

I love this album. It's as spunky, powerful, upfront and musically sparkling as most records by Carlene Carter, Johnny Cash & June Carter's only daughter, half-sister of Roseanne Cash.Wastin' Time With You and Unbreakable Heart are just two highlights from a wonderful set of rockin' country songs, with the occasional ballad, such as the evocative and beautifully sung Long Hard Fall or the heartrending The Rain, thrown in for (very) good measure.Carlene is one of the raunchiest singers I know of. No Nanci Griffith sweetness for her, her voice is closer in spirit and sound to someone like Loretta Lynn or Iris DeMent, and all the better for it. She sounds like a real woman, and then some.There isn't a bad track on this 1993 record, she's backed by some of the best in the business, the booklet has lots of photos, full lyrics and track listings, and the whole shebang is a disc I play as often as possible.CC wrote or co-wrote all these songs, and I can only sit back in awe and wonder at the lady's talents.This is a terrific country album, by one of the very best.

This is the third Carlene Carter CD I've bought this month. This is as good as her " I Fell In Love " CD. Lots of good songs. There are two Love Letter type songs which last no more than about 50 secs. Bit unusual, but I guess that's where the title comes from. " Long Hard Fall " " The Rain " and " Heart Is Right " are nice songs. Once again the quality of the CD was excellent. Can't complain at 66p + delivery.

Must be one of the best mainly upbeat country albums ever made. With tracks including, Every little thing, Nowhere train, I love you cause I want to, and Heart is right it is a most happy sounding cd around. I don't know if this album is still available in the UK as my copy was imported from America. If you can get hold of a copy you will not be disappointed I guarantee. P.S. my copy was second hand but it plays and looks like new.
