Tongan Kava Root - Pouni ONO - 100% Noble Kava-Kava (1/2 LB)

This was my first Kava experience and I feel as though I made the right choice. I pretty much followed the directions but the first time only experienced a mild sense of feeling good, which was fine by me. Apparently, this is fairly common, and I've now had it several times and tonight's been the best. I think this may be my everyday Kava as it washes me with a feeling of well-being, talkativeness and energy (yes, been very productive so advise this for daytime), but I've been able to sleep like a little angel once I'm in bed. I'll likely purchase one of Kalm with Kava's other blends that will be more mellowing for later in the evenings and always have the appropriate Kava on hand for any time of day.

Despite the taste being gag inducing, I am still giving this a 5 star because of effectiveness. I had been attempting to achieve some form of anxiety relief through kava but decided to try 'Instant' varieties first. They were sadly lacking. I am glad to move onto traditional methods, and this product gives you the mental relief desired. Shipping from AMZN as always is on point. Thank you.

Having never heard of this before a friend requested it to relax. I bought this online and was pleasantly surprised. This is a white powder that you mix into water, I liked to put it in hot water before night time and then slit it overtime. The flavor and taste is a little strange also followed by some mouth numbing. The sensation is weird but i just kept going with it. After finishing the cup, I do relax and sleep pretty good. It's not a cure all but for sure something to try.

Yeah this stuff works but how much you have to drink and the ridiculous price ..... in good I bought one bag and I’ll never buy another one........ the shaker bottle was crap too. I ended up giving it all away to a friend. Oh and if you like the taste of a sweaty gym sock drink this it’s great

This was one of the first kavas that I tried and it is, in my opinion, one of the best in this category. In general, it seems like herbal supplements can be hit-or-miss. Sometimes they work as hoped and that is the best situation, which was the case with Pouni Ono for me. The frustrating situations are the ones where you try the supplement and then feel like you wasted your money because it didn't work. This is not an issue with Kalm with Kava's Pouni Ono or other types of kava that are sold by this company. Follow the directions on the package (consider purchasing one of the muslin strainers that they sell), find a time to enjoy it, repeat the process for a bit, and it does the trick. As noted on the packaging, the kava is fresh and certified as noble from an independent testing organization. Whenever I've had questions about a purchase, the company has always been very responsive and helpful--excellent customer service.

Just disgusting. Unless nausea makes you relaxed, this stuff is pure garbage. Expensive pure garbage. I really wish I could return it, because this was a gigantic foul-tasting mistake. It had zero relaxing effect with nothing but nausea after ingesting what seemed like mucus from the stomach of a rhinoceros. Just...just don't buy it.

A nice smooth kava, very easy to work with. Fairly euphoric, uplifting, mellow experience. Here's my favorite recipe for a nearly delicious chocolate kava cocktail:INGREDIENTS:3 tablespoons Kava2 teaspoons unsweetened powdered cacao (pure chocolate)2 teaspoons sugar1/2 cup water1/2 cup milkPROCESS:Place your nylon bag/jelly strainer (e.g. Mirro 9665000A 2-Count Canning Accessories Jelly Strainer Bags Cookware, White )in a bowl, mix all the ingredients inside the bag, and massage for at least 1 minute. Let it rest for 5 minutes. Massage for another full minute. Then strain into a drinking vessel (squeeze hard!) add a little ice, and enjoy!Why 1/2 water and 1/2 milk? Pure milk seems a little too thick in the mouth. But some milk may be helpful as kavalactones have been reported to be fat soluble. If you're really trying to get some bang for your buck you can consider adding a teaspoon of soy lecithin e.g. WillPowder Soy Lecithin Powder, 16-Ounce Tub

This isn't very potent. Less intense than what I was expecting

The effect is not very strong which makes it great for daytime use. I didn’t find it gave much euphoria. It felt different every time I used it. The first time felt like it boosted my mood, the other 3 times i felt a slight calming effect.
