Coffee Tamper, Espresso Coffee Press 49mm Tamper Coffee with Silicone Tamper Mat

Hard to find 49mm tampers. The weight of this is just right (heavy) to apply the correct pressure without effort. It is a tiny bit smaller than 49mm (maybe 48 or 47mm) so it doesn't fit like a topper on the portafilter and may need to move it about a little to level the coffee. It is shinny, beautiful and a molded unit, all in one piece, unlike most out there who need to get screwed together.

Make sure you know the size of your portafilter

Very heavy and works well. I was using a plastic tamping tool before and after using this one I realized how much easier it was to tamp espresso. Makes a huge difference. I have the mr. Coffee espresso maker and it fits perfectly.

This is nice and heavy, heavy duty and the best part is it fit the Mr. coffee espresso machine!! Love it!!

Manufacturing defect. Too much trouble to return.

I needed something to replace that lovely plastic tamp/scoop that so many machines come with (Seriously I had 2). But to get the better results with the portafilter you need to put proper and even force. This one delivers and the added mini matt makes it easy to not damage your counter or portafilter.

First impression is how heavy it is and I saw this initially as a negative. But actually was surprised how much better it works than the plastic ones you get when buying a £300 coffee maker like my SMEG. The compression of the coffee makes all the difference. . . Just don’t drop it on your foot or a tiled kitchen floor! It looks quite stylish sitting next to the machine.

Tampers make a real difference in the outcome of the espresso. This is nice and heavy, no pushing down required just light presses to set things cleanly. My machine rattles so I keep the tamper beside my cup while the machines running otherwise my cup dances around, and put the little matt over the water lid to stop it from rattling loudly. All in all, it's very functional!

Ware leider verkratzt.Ich denke für diesen Preis kann man schon erwarten kein total verschrammten Tamper zu bekommen. Unterseite ist nicht 100% glatt, teilweise raue stellen wo Kaffeemehl hängen bleibt.
