Four year update
***Four year update***I am pleased to report that this unit still works after 4 years. The only thing I have repaired is adding a new battery. The newer 6000 version (2 buddies have it after seeing my old version) battery lasts for 3-4 rounds. This has been a great unit.My initial review of this IZZO is as follows: Upon receiving it, I charged the unit with the USB cord provided. I mounted the belt clip stud to the unit and tried the belt clip. The unit snaps into place and releases with a "button". All seemed good. I took it out for the first time to a local course. I attached the unit to my belt with the clip. It was a men's club event with a shotgun start. We drove cross country to the far reaches of the course. I reached for the IZZO and it was GONE. I had not even used it once. The unit had unsnapped from the belt clip and was nowhere to be found. Luckily golf is still an honorable sport in our area and another player turned it into the pro shop. The course marshall actually brought it to me after missing only 3 holes of use. Wow what a way to start a round. So, I wouldn't trust the belt clip again. Fool me once...The unit itself is fairly easy to use, but the course selection guide print is very small. Probably fine for 25 year olds, but if you're over 50, not so good. The hole yardages however are large enough to read without assistance from eye wear. The course selector did not indicate 2 of our local courses initially. I had to do an update on the IZZO website which took about 1 hour as it updates over 28000 courses. It now showed one of our major courses where as when I received it, it did not.I have had an issue with the power button not responding a couple of times. When I finished the first round with it, I turned the unit off. The round was 4 1/2 hours. When I got home a half hour later, I tried to turn the unit on, but it would not initiate. The battery was dead. After charging it, it turned back on. I'll have to see if this is a problem with the unit or battery.I will try to update this after I spend more time with it.*Update*I have now used this unit several times and it has worked very well. I raised it to 4 stars from the initial 3. I went 5 weeks without using it and left it with a full charge. When I went to use it after 5 weeks, the battery was dead. I recharged it, but this must have some sort of parasitic loss when it sits. Just an FYI."One Year Update"Well after almost one year of use, this device has been worth the four star rating. It's beginning to show signs that the battery may be failing. Sometimes when I charge it, the battery signal just blinks instead of progressively showing that it's charging. After unplugging it and then replugging it in, it starts to charge normally. The unit also doesn't show accurately all hazards on the courses. Last week there was a hidden creek across a fairway that was not indicated, causing a "donated" golf ball to the parent course. Whoops. Other than that it has proven a valuable asset, especially when playing a course for the first time. It would be really nice if it displayed an overhead view of the golf hole like the Garmin unit.

Great golf gps, battery life is great and distances are spot on.
Had the original Swami 4000, used it for a year and sold it on another website. Purchased the Izzo Swami GT Tracker and didn't like it and returned it for the 4000 +. Its smaller, has distances to bunkers, water, etc and measures shot distances. I really didn't try out the game tracker mode. The Izzo 400+ picks up my course immediately and auto advances holes. So far for the money, under a $100. No subscription fees and works great.Battery is pretty good. I usually get up to 27 holes and turn the screen down a little to extend the battery, They use Sirf Star tech so GPS works great.I also use a Bushnell laser and really prefer front, middle back yardages and also use this in tandem with the laser. Great for the money but could be better...
Nice device but lacking in a few areas: does not auto advance to next hole unless you have the Swami with you when you reach the green. So if you're like me and keep it attached to your push cart or motor cart it will not advance to next hole. Not a huge deal but kind of stupid software design that should be changed. Secondly the screen doesn't have a brightness setting so can be difficult to see in bright direct sunlight. Other than that I like the big yardage readout and price was $100 less than some of the higher end GPS's out there.

Good Basic GPS - Gives me all of the info I need.
I've had this out on the course about 4 times this Spring, and it seems to work quite well with fairly accurate distance readings. Unlike some of my golfing partners who stand on the tee of a par 5 checking their GPS for distance, I only use this when I get inside a distance to the green that I can actually reach with my next shot This product does not provide a pictorial representation of the golf hole, rather it provides distance to the front, center and back of the green. And if you're unfamiliar with a particular golf course, the IZZO will allow you to switch to another screen showing the hazards on any hole, c/w distance to front and back of the hazard. It also allows the option to track shot distance, but I haven't used that feature.Price wise, it's significantly less costly than some of the other brands which display a "pretty picture" of each hole. It will only automatically advance to the next hole if you carry it onto the previous green. Some have complained about this, but to me, because I leave it on my golf cart, it's no big deal to press the "up" arrow prior to teeing off on the next hole. The only thing I don't like is that the IZZO 4000+ seems to take a few minutes longer to find my course. The previous IZZO GPS I owned seemed a little faster. One final caveat. It's unlikely that you will have to update this GPS, but if you do, and your only computer is a "MAC," you'll be out of luck. As of this date, the update software only functions on "WINDOWS" machines. So, just in case, I will make sure to always have a friend with a "WINDOWS" P.C.Now just an aside about AMAZON shipping. According to the tracking information, this order was shipped using AMAZON LOGISTICS, And also according to the most current tracking data, (at the time of this writing), it has not yet arrived. Despite having had it in my possession for over 3 weeks!!!! Please AMAZON go back to UPS, USPS, or FEDEX!!!

Star Ratings are over Rated! Read the Review!
I bought it for "yardage" as I don't want to "fool around" with all other settings as that can slow up play. So: here's my rating,it does exactly what I want, Yardage. To front, middle, back of green and yardage to hazards, water, bunkers. I like it and the price is right. After using this since last year and this year, I have no complaints. As I said I use it for yardage and am glad I don't have other things to use it for score, slope, etc. All those things make for slow play and I believe players should learn how to read slope on their own. Also I use for full 18 holes and it never quits, only if I forget to recharge.
