Mystery of the Thief in the Night: Mexico 1 (Pack-n-Go Girls Adventures)

An inspiring, clean, down to earth mystery for children. SUPERB!
Izzy, 9, is sailing along the coast of Mexico with her parents. They are now anchored at Barrade Navida and Izzy is practicing her Spanish. The young waitress, Patti, who also befriends Izzy, warns them about a 'thief in the night' in the lagoon where their boat is. Apparently the thief is stealing dinghies. Carlos is Patti's brother and Izzy doesn't like him, thinking his smile is not genuine. Is Carlos the thief? What will the two girls do to find out who the thief is?I LOVE the way Izzy's parents saved to do this year long trip. They are not wealthy but have saved for years. When living in Seattle, they did not eat out and drove an old car. The boat is their home. This story teaches children that it is important to save and if you live frugally you can travel the world on a budget! Our kids can SO relate to this and the mystery is well written with fourteen short chapters for young readers. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Wonderful fun adventures perfect for your young reader!! Great Christmas Gift!!!
Just finished reading this book with my 6yr old granddaughter and we both absolutely loved it!!! The story takes place on the coast of Mexico where the main character has sailed to a village on her parents boat. We both loved learning about the culture, traditions and even a bit of Spanish, as well as what life is like on a boat. It is a wonderfully written story by Janelle Diller, that is easy to connect to while imagining yourself experiencing all the fun, mystery and adventures right along with the characters. Can't wait to start on the next book.

Pack-n-Go books make great gifts!
I get copies of these wonderful books for all my nieces. I hope to have a complete collection of them for all the girls as they grow older. Ms. Diller has written some inventive stories and the kids old enough to read them have thoroughly enjoyed them. I look forward to the next title in the series!

Wonderful read!
This is a wonderful read for anybody, but especially for the targeted audience of kids ages 6-9. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and applaud Ms. Diller on a excellent job of story-telling. Linda Bello-Ruiz, author of From Tears to Triumph, My Journey to The House of Hope.

Authentic
This is a great look into sailing life. The characters are full and well-drawn, and their actions and motivations are believable and authentic. It's also an interesting mystery boiled down into a quick little book just right for a young reader or a cozy read-a-long (or both).
