Great gift
Thies was a birthday gift. It arrived on time and works just great. What REALLY nice is the temp control plus it can be used in the car and the office with the plugs.

Hot Coffee in the Car
This product meets all my expectations. Others I tried never kept the coffee hot enough. So far this heated mug has worked great.

Heats liquid slowly - Very top heavy; Unstable
2-4-13. Recieved as a gift. Kohls sells for $6.99. Unit is very unstable (top heavy). I use it at work using a foam insulated cup holder to reduce instablilty. It does heat the liguid slowly. I find 140 degrees F. suitable. Insulation quality is poor and liquid will cool quickly if unplugged from power. Using a 120 ac to 12 vdc converter is questionable as this JLR Gear 12v Digital Heated Programmable Mug - 16 Oz. unit draws about 500-600 ma and can overheat cheap converter adapters. A suitable converter will require at least 1000 ma output to avoid overheating.

Worked nicely for one time
This mug was received as a gift and enthusiastically endorsed by the giver. So I expected good things from it. It did keep my coffee at a perfect temperature for one trip 40 minute to work on a cold day. The next day it failed to heat and it was clear that the failure was in the electrical plug for car power outlet. I also found the edge of the lip on the cap to be sharp. Too bad...such great promise

Infuriating design
I -HATE- this mug! Oh, it heats coffee just fine (a bit slow, actually) but the very tall design is very top-heavy. My Pontiac has a twin cupholder on the center console, which is too close to elbows for safety from hot liquids, so I've tried several other systems. The seat model cupholder -it tipped over, all over the passenger seat. The first single-cup weighted floor model -it tipped over, coffee-soaked floor. The larger dual-cup model (with cd compartments, et al) -tipped over, soaking wet floor. There is no way to go around a curve or park the car without the bloody thing emptying any amount of coffee all over the floor. It is not worth the $20 I paid for it (from Kohl's). Keeping coffee or tea hot during a long commute is lovely but this infuriating mug is not worth the trouble. Look for models with shorter, more balanced designs or keep a valet with you to hold the darned thing.

Great for taveling in the car
I have a long commute to work everyday so I was looking for a way to keep my coffee hot. This product worked great. The degree by degree adjustment between 85 and 160 degrees allows you to dial in exactly how hot you want your coffee. Beware though at 160 degrees it will burn you badly if you attempt to drink it at that temp...

Work Great on My Morning Commute
These mugs work great on my morning commute. It snowed yesterday in Texas but because I had a Heated Mug I was able to walk into work with hot coffee (just how I like it). Makes a great gift too.
